Day 1: Tokyo Arrival (-/-/D)

Welcome to Tokyo! In 1868, the Japanese Emperor moved the national capital from Kyoto to Edo, which was then renamed Tokyo (\"Eastern Capital\"). Many parts of Tokyo were destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, and by the air raids in 1945 during WWII. The city was rebuilt and now offers a wide variety of choices for shopping, entertainment, culture, and dining, along with a variety of green spaces for visitors. Upon arrival at Narita International Airport, you will be met by our representative and assisted on an airport bus to transfer to your hotel. Later in the afternoon, you will start to explore this fascinating country by taking a trip on the metro (tickets included) to Shinjuku District, where you will experience the lively energy of the city. Shinjuku is one of the major nightlife districts in Tokyo. After the visit, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and return to your hotel by metro with the guide. Overnight in Tokyo  NOTE: The visit to Shinjuku may take place on the day of arrival or after the panoramic city tour on the following day, depending on passengers' flight arrival times.

Day 2: Tokyo (B/L/-)

In the morning, you will head on a five-hour tour with your guide to explore this amazing city, known for its hustle and bustle and extremely modern districts that coexist with quiet, peaceful areas. Enjoy a brief stop at the Zojoji Temple to snap a beautiful photo of the Tokyo Tower. Pay attention to the hundreds of Jizos, stone traditional protecting deities who will guide you on your travels. From there you will head to Shibuya, a junction that is said to be the most crowded in the world. The Meiji Temple is dedicated to Emperor Meiji, his wife, and their spirits. You will continue to your bus along the elegant street of Omotesandoas you discover the most beautiful part of the Imperial Palace and the gardens. Stop to visit the famous Nijubashi Bridge. You will pass through the district of Akihabara, the “electric town” known for its fascinating icons from the popular Japanese Manga and Anime culture and then see Kokugikan, the Sumo stadium, home to this Japanese sport. You will also visit the Buddhist temple of Sensoji, the oldest and most important temple in Tokyo, with its 55-meter high pagoda. Then, take some free time to visit the traditional commercial street of Nakamise in the Asakusa District. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before returning to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Tokyo

Day 3: Tokyo — Mount Fuji — Kawaguchiko (B/-/D)

Today you will make your way to the breathtaking area of Mount Fuji as you travel through the scenic countryside of Japan. First, you will see the Arakurayama Sengen Park, with its beautiful pagodas along with some of the most famous views of Mount Fuji. After this, travel to Kawaguchiko with its tiny houses, flowers, and mountains, along with its gorgeous lake. Upon arrival, you will visit the Fuji Sengen Shrine, set in a magical site surrounded by tall trees, and the starting point of the traditional pilgrimage to the mountain. At the shrine, express thanks for being able to visit this wonderful place. The visit will also include a delightful boat trip on Lake Kawaguchi. After lunch (not included), start to ascend Mount Fuji on the road that will take you to the “fifth station”, surrounded by spectacular forests and extraordinary views, to a height of 2,305 meters. From there you will make your way back to Kawaguchiko, where you will have time to stroll around the lake. You will stay at a traditional Japanese hotel and get the opportunity to enjoy the ONSEN (public baths). Overnight in Kawaguchiko NOTE: In the winter, the route up to Mount Fuji will be closed due to snow or other weather conditions. During this season, we will ascend as far as the authorized point.

Day 4: Kawaguchiko — Iyashi No Sato Nenba — Toyota — Kyoto (B/-/-)

In the morning, you will continue along the scenic road which is bordered by lakes to Iyashi No Sato Nenba, a tiny village destroyed by a typhoon in 1966 and later restored as a traditional open-air mountain village and museum. Its traditional houses have been transformed into arts and crafts shops, restaurants, and traditional museums. You will then see the Shiraito Falls, considered to be one of the most attractive sites in Japan, with a waterfall height of 150 meters. From there you will visit Nagoya, the fourth largest city in Japan on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Here, you will visit the Toyota Museum (admission included); this magnificent site is a must-see for motor lovers. Finally, you will travel to Kyoto, where you will spend the night. You will see the magnificent Shinto Shrine of Fushimi Inari, the Imperial Palace, and Kinkakuji Temple, the “Golden Pavilion” and its glorious gardens. Reviews of this Operator

The tour organized by indus travels ....

The tour organized by Indus Travels was flawless. Hotels, tours, and transportation all impressed me. We had a very relaxing time knowing what was happening at each stage. The scenery and activities were fantastic and did not disappoint. The highlight of the trip was definitely Galapagos Islands.

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with...

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly...

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

Best of Italy

Indus Travels did an excellent job planning the trip to Italy. We were on Best of Italy in Oct 2022. The tour was 5 stars all the way. The hotel accommodations were comfortable and clean & guides were top-notch.

We were looking for a...

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

My wife and I along...

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

My partner and I planned...

My partner and I planned a trip to Greece with a small group. Indus and their representatives went above and beyond to curate an amazing trip that felt very exclusive. We just returned a couple of weeks ago and are already planning another trip.

I booked a trip with...

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

Exploring Bogota was fantastic -...

Exploring Bogota was fantastic - a lively city with so much to see. The Gold Museum was a highlight, taking us on a journey through centuries of history. We spent hours there, fascinated by the detailed exhibits showcasing the rich culture. After Bogota, we flew to St. Andres, a Caribbean paradise. Despite some rain during the 'rainy season,' the island's charm and our packed sightseeing schedule made every moment unforgettable. Activities like mangrove kayaking, snorkeling, and island hopping showcased St. Andres' natural beauty. WE even rescued a sick blue heron during our tour and transferred it to rescue services. The food was another standout. Local cuisine was not only delicious but also budget-friendly, offering a unique blend of flavors. I love seafood especially seviche, and I was trully impress by quality and diversity. But what really made our trip special was the people. Friendliness was everywhere, whether chatting with locals or getting tips on hidden gems. The genuine hospitality added an extra layer of joy to an already amazing journey. Bogota and St. Andres left a lasting impression, going beyond sightseeing to truly experience the heart and soul of these incredible destinations. Big thank you to Indus team, who put together this trip for me. I am looking forward to exploring other South American countries with Indus.

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour...

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!

Great India Tour

Great India

We are a group of 14 friends mostly seniors. We have had a wonderful time in India with the tour guide Kush who is not only knowledgeable but professional and friendy. Despite the fact that we had prior arrangements on our own as a group on the 3 free days and did not join the optional tours, Kush showed his understanding with class. The tour itinerary covered the visit of Taj Mahal ; the tour of Jaipur and the visit to Fatehpur Sikri (which could have been missed as it was not on Kush's schedule). Anyhow, Kush managed to make adjustment to fit it in the schedule. He even added an extra site visit for us on another day. His enthusiasm is highly appreciated. Best of North And South India

We enjoyed our trip to India very much, we were glad that we continued to the southern part of India and didn't just leave our trip strictly to the northern part. We were sorry that some of our travelling friends in the North, weren't able to continue to the South, because we couldn't believe we were in the same country when we arrived in the South. Being able to do both areas gave us a good flavour of India! Both of our guides in the north and south were excellent and certainly did everything in their power to give us a good trip! We felt very safe and they never left our sides. In the North, we had Mahipal and in the South we had Harsha. As for the organization of the trip, Indus Travels were all very good and everywhere we went, everything was organized and on time! We would definitely recommend Indus Travels to our friends if they showed an interest in visiting India.

14 days was not enough! In Vietnam , Cambodia and Thailand the few days we spent in each country was enough to make you want to revisit. Ha long bay in Vietnam was breathtaking. Angor Wat was a surreal experience. However, the 2 food tours we did in Thailand were definitely a hit! In each country the food was truly delicious. The majesty of the rescued elephants at the rescue sanctuary was humbling. I cannot say enough about local guides. They were friendly and knowledgeable. Our speedboat tour was cancelled due to bad weather, the credit was in our account as soon as we returned home.

Reviews of Indus Travels Tours

Overall it was a very nice trip, I think it was well laid out for traveling
Such a wonderful experience, I fell in love. His name is Turkey.
Indus Travel amazed me. I have traveled before with other tour companies and I have to say that the organization of Indus Travel was really neat. I received ahead of the trip the schedule of what to expect with times a locations. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and nice. The hotel was picked with care and we got a great hotel that went beyond our expectations. The airline selected was one of the best ones and the price of the trips were convenient.

Glorious Greece

Glorious Greece - a trip of a lifetime made possible by excellent guides, great hotels, and an amazing itinerary. From start to finish our trip to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini was exceptional as were our hospitable guides. The team at Indus and its partners went above and beyond for our group. We especially loved Nena our guide at the Acropolis who was exceptionally knowledgeable about all aspects of the site including the mythology and stories told for generations. This is a trip we won't soon forget.

Jeremy, the leader of Indus Travels, was really professional, and the trip was well-organized; I just returned from Africa. The game drives in Chobe and Entabeni were our favorites, although we loved everything about our trip from Cape Town onwards. With only sixteen people, the group was just right, and everyone got along great. October was the perfect time to go outside. Taking this excursion is something we wholeheartedly endorse.

Even though our schedule was jam-packed, we saw quite a bit of Spain. Wonderful was our tour manager. Under her watchful eye, we remained on track and received excellent treatment. Particularly when dealing with smaller concerns, she was of great assistance. Due to her, the whole thing was fantastic. Superb were all of the local tour guides. We gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the heritage and past of the places we experienced. This trip to Spain with Indus is fantastic.

Unforgettable Ireland with Indus was perfect small group tour of 20 people covering Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Donegal, Galway, Killarney, Kilkenny and lots in between. The tour was very well paced with plenty of activities balanced with free time. Hotels, food, scenery, culture, history, fun, all amazing. Brilliant tour guide Kevin with loads of local knowledge.

Great last minute trip through the Imperial cities with Indus. Our river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest had been cancelled due to low water levels so this trip with Indus was very last minute. Many thanks to Monica from Indus for organising everything for us with such short notice.

A really well organised trip with very good guides in Japan. From the outset the communication from Indus was excellent. We loved the "Indus app" that gave us al the info we needed for our trip. We were fortunate that we had a small group of 12 people only so we had a wonderful one on one experience with each of our guides in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka.

Visiting Ireland was an incredible adventure. Excellent lodgings with a warm, welcoming, and culturally significant vibe. Quite a few unexpectedly delicious supper options. We had a blast with all of the planned activities. Thank you to everyone on the bus, the tour leader, the local guides, and everyone else on board. This tour and Indus Travels are both highly recommended by me.

Indus is a company you want to avoid

Indus is a company you want to avoid. They are not honest at all. When a company will not share information, you must wonder why. They are a travel agency not the company that provides the tour. They will not even tell you the name of the company you will be travelling with. The only reason they have a BBB rating is because BBB only rates according to the time the company takes to respond to a complaint. the issues are never resolved to the clients satisfaction. Be smart and learn from others misfortune.

Truly breathtaking sightseeing on Best

Truly breathtaking sightseeing on Best of Peru, Argentina & Brazil tour! We visited all 3 countries - Peru, Argentina and Brazil. The planning and logistics involved to get us to the next destination must have been phenomenal. All went smoothly. We have done many trips in the past and we were extremely impressed with Indus and their local agents. Would travel again with Indus, in fact, look forward to doing so again soon. The countries we visited were very interesting and quite different from each other which made it more fascinating to see them. A special thank you to Rachel at Indus for providing us great service and assistance.

Thanks to Indus

Thanks to Indus, our trips to Egypt and Dubai were amazing. Excellent, well-organized, informed, and kind tour guide. We saw everything on our itinerary, and Indus did a great job with the services they offered. Excellent work!

Norway was a beautiful country

Norway was a beautiful country, and the pace of the Magic of Norwegian Fjords tour was fine. Although the guide kept quoting all costs in American Dollars or Euro; Norwegian the currency is Krone. It became rather frustrating to be converting from Euro/USD. The accommodation was clean, though the rooms were extremely small, they did provide some spectacular views! The coach was very full so that part was little disappointing. Now that I am home and reviewing the photos, I can appreciate what an awe-inspiring country Norway really is. Absolutely include Norway on your tour list and go with Indus.

We do not normally travel with guided tours but myself and my wife decided to try it for this Africa trip due to lack of planning time. This was such a good experience! Monica with Indus was very helpful in guiding us through our booking process and helping us prepare for the trip. Our tour manager Tony was very knowledgeable and really cared about everybody on the tour having a great experience in his country. Our tour group only had 14 people in it, and we were all a little family by the end of our 2 weeks together. The hotels were very nice, the food was good, and the wildlife was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend Indus Travels to anyone considering it!

This company should not be in business

This company should not be in business, unfortunately, they will continue their bad practices as long as people can be duped. I and a friend unfortunately booked with them ( I trusted my friend). I should have looked for reviews on this company before booking. It was supposed to be a London & Scotland tour including a visit to Stonehenge & Bath. Stonehenge & Bath never happened. The tour guides explanation was simply “no we’re not going to do that”. The tour guide was lazy, she had no knowledge of the places we did visit by a non-luxury coach bus with dirty windows. There was soooooo many things wrong with this trip it would take to long to write. I hope people start reading these reviews to save themselves a headache and lost money.

Taste of Portugal tour was just the…

Taste of Portugal tour was just the right amount of time, with adequate time to do your own thing plus interesting and well planned activities. The number of the participants was also really good - about 15 of us so we got to know most people over the 7 days. One thing I was disappointed with was that even though the tour says it was for 8 days it really in essence was only 7, as day 1 was nothing, just checking in to the hotel for the evening. So I think it is a bit misleading to call it a 8 day tour. The hotels were all of a very good standard and in good locations.

It's with great sadness ,I will never go back

Well it is with great sadness I leave this review , I have gone to indus 20 years plus , my son has as well. I even recommended this place to friends . No more went today ordered a chicken curry ,I got a burger as well. The curry smelt like poo or horse manure, terrible . My son said dad is this normal. He was so disappointed .he's a local lad grew up there ordered many times before. With regret the family running it now have let the standards drop badly . Seems the old man was the back bone of this business . Would not bother ordering from indus, highly disappointing. There is no way you can cook a dish in 2 minutes . Old chicken being used from previous days . Food poisoning alert.

A shameful company

DO NOT USE Travel Indus for traveling. It is a deceptive company. I live in Sarasota, Florida and was supposed to fly to Europe the same day that Category 4 hurricane Ian hit us. Indus Travel said it was fine for us to travel. The hurricane was catastrophic; many lost their homes due to the winds and flooding and we lost water, power and Wi-Fi for over a week in addition to minor damage. We were required to evacuate and sheltered with all roads closed during the hurricane. Even our main Florida highway was flooded. I asked Travel Indus to postpone our trip. They refused. They could care less about us losing our lives and completely ignored our multiple requests to postpone the trip. I contacted them 12 times in 1 week and received no help. This company is disgraceful and shouldn’t be doing travel business.

Reply from Indus Travels

We really appreciate how frustrating this must all have been for you and we certainly empathise with your situation and that of all Floridians affected by the recent hurricane. You contacted us numerous times in the lead up to your trip and we explained each time that Miami International Airport was not closed and that the flight booked on was still scheduled to operate; that this could change at a moments notice and should that happen we could then review what options the airline would provide as alternative travel plans. This occurred with a few of the airports in Florida but not with Miami International; which stayed open. We suggested that if you had travel insurance (it was not purchased through us), that you should contact them immediately to open a claim. We did not tell you to travel; we simply advised that all services were scheduled to depart as originally booked. We understand that your circumstances warranted that you should stay put and not travel, however as per our terms and conditions the tour would be considered non refundable/non transferrable. We have clients with medical emergencies or other urgent reasons that must also cancel last minute and as much as we empathise with their situations too, we must follow our terms & conditions for all our clients regardless of how we may feel personally. The main reason that we get our valued clients like yourself to agree to the terms and conditions at the time of booking is because we also agree to stringent terms with our tour and airline partners. This is why we offer travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel Insurance is meant to cover one for the what ifs, the unknowns that can happen prior to or during travel.

Amazing Ecuador with Galapagos…

We booked an Ecuador with Galapagos tour with Indus. From the beginning to the end, it was exceptional. The support we received from Indus made everything smooth, even when we had two flights canceled (not due to Indus) and had to make changes. We have used Indus for multiple trips and we highly sing their praises.

Indus lied about the airline

Indus lied about the airline, not a direct flight, not Emirates. Indus booked us into fleabag hotels. The nile cruise food was pigslop. Never use them. They do not care about your travel experience.

Indus Mystical Egypt Tour was excellent…

Indus Mystical Egypt Tour was excellent with the exception of having to be on a flight to Aswan after arriving in Cairo requiring we all get up at 2:30 a.m. creating a major sleep deficit right off the bat. We had few people become ill with diarrhea and being dehydrated and I wonder if lack of sleep might have contributed to this condition. Luckily me and my partner were fine. To repeat Tour Guide Mohamed was terrific! Don't know how Indus provide such a value for money trip for so little money. Great value! Highly recommended.
