FLATBUSH ZOMBIES IN CONCERT:   Brooklyn hip-hop group Flatbush Zombies continue their charge to the top, joining rappers like Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era collective in the East Coast hip-hop movement known as "Beast Coast." Indeed, their massive productions verge on beastly, featuring brazen lyrics and ice-cold hooks that take on even more epic proportions at their electrifying live shows.  Whether fans are in it for the group's outré neo-tribal style or the undeniable flow of hits like "MRAZ," they're sure to be pleased as the Zombies unleash another series of inimitable sets on their upcoming tour.   BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:   Formed in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2010, Flatbush Zombies is comprised of Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick "Arc" Elliott. In 2012 they gained notoriety with their YouTube hit "Thug Waffle," self-releasing their debut mixtape D.R.U.G.S. later that year to critical acclaim. Since then they've collaborated with such hip-hop luminaries as ASAP Rocky, RZA, and Juicy J, and performed to amped-up ticket buyers at festivals like Coachella and SXSW. Fresh off the late-2013 release of their second mixtape BetterOffDEAD , the Zombies are sharper than ever and ready to eat fans alive on their latest tour.

Zombie Gang the best to do it!!

FBZ always puts on the best performances ever!! The crowd engagement, set lists, ENERGY, everything on 100!! Erick, Meech & Juice are truly the best trio and they perform with others that they bring on tour as well! I've been to a lot of concerts but FBZ are always my faves.

best show everrrrrr <3

smooth entry, awesome venue, security was on point, 10/10 show!!!!

What a great concert. Absolutely the best show in rap!

Stellar Vibes

First time seeing Flatbush didn't disappoint! Timely and show-stopping performance. Looking forward to seeing them when they are in town again.

Best rap show I’ve been to

The guys killed it. I’ve seen Kendrick, schoolboy q, jayroc, Vince staples, and Tyler the creator. Flatbush was definitely the best hip hop show I’ve been to. Being a small venue like the Fillmore was awesome too, the entire crowd was into it.

Sloppy but entertaining

The timing of the show was pretty off, tickets and venue said it starts at 9pm but when I walked in at 840pm the opener who was supposed to go on second was already mostly done with his set. The headline had a great performance, the only thing I could complain about was the way the show ended abruptly with no encore. I think everyone was expecting another song, but the zombies were great either way.

I wish this concert was longer! I had so much fun. To be clear they performed the appropriate/advertised time. I just had so much fun I wish it were longer.

Zombies @ The Novo

Their energy was immaculate. 10/10 would recommend!

Love Flatbush Zombies

Loved it! Loved the show! Loved the energy! Will definitely go again.

Concert was great. Unforgettable 10/10 they know how to put on a great show

The most amazing show I've ever been to. Amazing graphics and lights. Insane talent. Live vocals. Props including a coffin for each member that they each emerged from as their individual verses started for their opening song. At the end the three returned to their separate coffins. Two great openers Nyck Caution and Kirk Knight. Super energetic and deeply compassionate Kirk stopped his performance at one part to make sure a fan was ok that had fallen in the crowd and reminded everyone we were here to have fun but safety first. This leadership and selflessness is the standard I've come to expect from the entire Beast Coast Family. Kirk clearly demonstrated that the safety of his fans was more important than his set. What a stand up guy. Thats the good knight for you. Erick Arc Elliot made a short speech about mental illness and spoke to the crowd about how recently before this he was in the same spot as a lot of us, unsure how to make his dreams come to fruition. He encouraged us that we could all do anything we set our mind to and visualized. Zombie Juice took a moment to tell the crowd how he defeats his demons, and told the crowd to try his method out themselves. He had the entire crowd yell 'I love myself' 3 times. Meechy Darko jumps in the crowd EVERY SINGLE SHOW and interacts with the mosh pit walking through hi fiving fans then asking (somewhat) nicely for them to move the fuck out of his way so he can get back on stage and continues rapping the entire time. A lot of their tours offer a meet and greet option which always include seriously bomb limited edition merch. They also always have limited edition merch at their merch table some of which is pre signed by them. Every aspect is thought out to give the fans an amazing experience and the vibe is always family. You can always spot FBZ with their same crew and they are all some super chill down to earth motha fuckers. Best four shows of my life

Phenomenal concert.

I loved that they played u&i and the glory.

I was with my friends who also love it and we were tearing up haha. Super amazing, they sounded great and looked great. Best concert I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot. The Ritz was not good at all though. They are too strict and kicked my friend out with a dead phone and no where to go and she cried all night. Bad night for her and if it wasn’t at the Ritz it would’ve been an even better time.

The concert was hyped af at rebel , it was at a nightclub kinda thing and everyone was just hyped.

Flatbush was jumping outta coffins and meechy walked onto the ground. Kirk Knight and Nyck Caution was dope . Palm trees was the encore song.

They played a lot of songs like Bounce , bath salts , this is it , trapped , vacation , trade off , m. Bison , hell-o, chunky, the glory, big shrimp and maybe a few more. Before the show they even played other songs that’s the crowd still sang to that wasn’t made from flatbush like, plain Jane , dark knight demo, work and even a song from Panic at the disco. It was just dope haha, ZOMBiES GANG//vih

Theatres in Moscow

Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.

There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.

A typical feature of Russian theatre – visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.

Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.

The Bolshoi Theatre

The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.

If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.

In August the Bolshoi is closed.

The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre

This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.

The Novaya Opera

“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. You can buy tickets online here http://www.novayaopera.ru/en .

Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center

The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya. Nowadays its artistic director is Olga Rostropovich, daughter of Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, great cellist and conductor. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. You can see what is on the program here http://opera-centre.ru/theatre . Unfortunately “booking tickets online” is available in Russian only. If you need help, you can contact us at and we can book a ticket for you.

Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory

These are two major concert halls for symphonic music in Moscow. Both feature excellent acoustics, impressive interior, various repertoire and best performers. You can check the program here http://meloman.ru/calendar/ . You need just to switch to English. Booking tickets online is available only for owners of Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian phone numbers. If you need help, you can contact us and we can book a ticket for you.

Moscow International Performing Arts Center (MIPAC)

This modern and elegant concert hall houses performances of national and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, opera singers, ballet dancers, theatre companies, jazz bands, variety and traditional ensembles. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of “Virtuosy Moskvy” orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . The program is impressive in its variety but is not translated into English. You can contact us at and we can find a performance for you.

Closure In Moscow Announce ‘The Impeccable Beast’ Single And Tour 2012

By Mike Solo

Melbourne’s (and perhaps Australia’s) finest progressive rock/pop/punk group, Closure in Moscow , will be touring Australia in support of their latest single, The Impeccable Beast throughout March.

The band have quietly been touring Australia solidly over the past six months, supporting Dead Letter Circus , Gyroscope and My Chemical Romance , as well as adding their own club shows.

This is the most extensive headline tour from the band since 2010 and features a number of excellent supports including alt rockers Strangers , The Dead Love and exciting prog rock group A Lonely Crowd at selected dates.

The Impeccable Beast is now up online as a free download from http://www.musicglue.com/closureinmoscow

Whilst it’s not their best work, it still hints that the band won’t be abandoning their much-admired technicality anytime soon. Stay tuned for the album proper to drop sometime in late 2012.

Whilst the band will be playing some new material at these shows (and showcasing their new rhythm section), expect a fair chunk of the set to be drawn from 2009’s excellent First Temple .

Listen to one of their best tracks, Vanguard

Un tourism | bringing the world closer.

Unwto 2021: a year in review, 2021: tourism united, resilient and determined.

2021 has been a year of learning and adapting for tourism. It has proven that only by working together can the sector overcome challenges and embrace opportunities.

Gathering the global tourism community and developing concrete actions, UNWTO has led tourism’s response with the vision of not only restarting, but doing so in a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable way.

Jan

January - March

As global tourism faced up to a second year of unprecedented crisis , UNWTO began 2021 by counting the cost so far . At the same time, however, the emergence of vaccines brought hope . The Global Tourism Crisis Committee met to explore what this meant for safe travel and the restart of tourism, while the announcement of the winners of the UNWTO Global Start-up Competition recognized the role culture and creativity will play in tourism’s restart and recovery .

Feb

April - June

Collaboration and innovation were the focusat the start of the second quarter. UNWTO partnered with IATA on a new Destination Tracker to give both tourists and destinations clear, impartial and trusted advice. And a new Start-up Competition was launched to find the best ideas for accelerating rural development through tourism. In May, the launch of the Best Tourism Villages by UNWTO generated significant interest from Members in every global region.

Mar 2021

July - September

As destinations in Europe welcomed tourists back for the peak summer season, UNWTO highlighted the role of  digital solutions for the safe restart of the sector. But UNWTO also looked ahead, to a more sustainable future , working with key partners to  reduce plastic waste and consumption across every part of the sector. Together, we celebrated World Tourism Day around the theme of Tourism for Inclusive Growth, a message of solidarity and determination that was echoed on a global scale.

April 2021

October - December

The final quarter of 2021 began with cautious optimism as UNWTO’s Barometer showed signs of improvement in tourist arrival numbers during the summer season in the northern hemisphere. A new partnership with Netflix will bring the message of tourism as a driver of opportunity to a massive global audience, while in November, UNWTO was tourism’s voice at COP26 and signatories to the landmark Glasgow Declaration keep growing. Finally, against the backdrop of the UNWTO General Assembly , the programme of work for the coming biennium was approved and 77% of Members voted to secure a second mandate for the Secretary-General from 2022-2025.

Growing and Moving Forward

UNWTO brings together political leaders from across the globe to deliver a strong, coordinated response. Governments, destinations, fellow UN agencies and international organizations met at key international events joining efforts to rethink tourism. Institutional coordination has proven crucial to find the solutions that build a smarter, greener and safer tourism.

Leaving Nobody Behind

The pledge to ‘ leave nobody behind ’ means nobody should miss out : Not now as we support the sector in the face of crisis, and not in the future as tourism starts again. Tourism is a proven driver of equality and opportunity. And that’s why we turn words into actions, delivering guidelines and action plans , to ensure everyone can enjoy the opportunities tourism brings.

A Shared Vision

Advancing the transformation of the tourism sector , partnerships are the only way forward. In 2021, UNWTO signed agreements with international organizations and the private sector to step our vision for the future of tourism: innovation , education , sustainability , green investment , rural development.

World Tourism Barometer: September 2022

UNWTO updates World Tourism Barometer and reports international tourism back to 60% of pre-pandemic levels from January to July 2022

unwto tourism highlights 2022

Below are excerpts from the September 2022 release of the UNWTO Tourism Barometer :

  • The steady recovery reflects strong pent-up demand for international travel, especially in the months of June and July which are part of the Northern Hemisphere summer season. The easing or lifting of travel restrictions in an increasing number of countries also contributed to boost results.
  • International tourist arrivals almost tripled (+172%) in January-July 2022 compared to the same period of 2021. Numbers climbed from -64% in January 2022 (versus 2019) to -28% in July, the strongest month since the start of the pandemic.
  • Asia and the Pacific (+165%) saw arrivals more than double in the first seven months of 2022, though they remained 86% below 2019 levels.
  • The ongoing recovery can also be seen in outbound tourism spending from major source markets. Expenditure from France was at -12% in January-July 2022 compared to 2019 while spending from Germany stood at -14%. International tourism spending remained at -10% in Belgium, -23% in Italy and -26% in the United States.
  • The uncertain economic environment seems to have reversed prospects for a return to pre-pandemic levels in the near term. 61% of UNWTO Panel of Experts now see a potential return of international arrivals to 2019 levels in 2024 or later while those indicating a return to pre-pandemic levels in 2023 has diminished (27%) compared to the May survey (48%).

TOURISM TRENDS 2022

unwto tourism highlights 2022

11 Aug TOURISM TRENDS 2022

The situation for tourism remains rather unusual as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The crisis has marked a significant change for everyone, and above all for tourism, one of sectors hit hardest by the virus. 2020 was the year in which international tourism came to a near-complete standstill, and the only alternatives were domestic and local tourism.

2021 has seen some improvements, but only in a very subtle way as restrictions are still in place and many countries keep their borders fully or partially closed.

It is difficult to make an estimate for 2022 as it is not known how the pandemic will evolve. However, it is possible to talk about the new tourism trends that are likely to emerge over the coming year: – International travel with restrictions still maintained by both destinations and airlines in order to offer 100% security to the consumer.

– Reinforcement of COVID-19 testing; two years after the pandemic, COVID testing will still be in place as a preventive measure. – Conscious travel will be advocated. Travel to more distant destinations, but with prolonged durations of stay, as consumers look to enjoy as much of each place they visit as possible. – Green travel. Climate change is a problem that is present and growing. Consumers now are much more responsible and aware of the reality they live in on daily basis.

– A new trend is the “ed-ventures”. It is about combining education and holidays for the youngest members of the family. While adults may need to telework or attend meetings, their children can be doing workshops and learning in a playful way.
