Following the runaway success of their  Sunday Lunch   YouTube series, and their critically acclaimed tour of ’23,  Toyah Willcox  ( Toyah ) and  Robert Fripp  ( King Crimson ) are bursting out of their kitchen again this winter with the Christmas Party 2024 with tickets now available here . With the legendary artistic twists that both  Toyah & Robert  are renowned for, they’ll perform Toyah hits alongside an array of much loved gems. With decades of iconic albums, hit singles and tours to their names, and 37 years of marriage,  Toyah & Robert  have most recently connected to global audiences through social media. A staggering 120 million viewers worldwide have watched their weekly performances on YouTube , plus millions more on Facebook and TikTok , with the duo still broadcasting weekly every Sunday.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Toyah live, bought the tickets as a birthday present for my Mum. I've liked her from the 80s and am so happy I've finally seen her live. She was on top form with her vocals sounding better than I thought she would, she also had a seemingly endless supply of energy which boomed through the crowd.

The set list was cleverly picked and was truly amazing.

Toyah looked great and her vocals were fabulous. She still had an edge and the crowd were treated with all her classics as well as some new songs. Toyah interacted with the crowd in between intervals which pleased us all as we waited a while to see her.

Although an 80s star, her songs still seem as fresh and inspiring as when they were first released, blending implausible lyrics together with truly emotive and almost heart thumping melodies. Toyah is for sure a must see gig for anyone. Highly recommended.

If seeing a class 80s act is next on your bucket list then Toyah is the woman for you.

Not good at writing reviews.I was told by a music friend that "Sir Fripp's wife" has a band and they are playing in London. How come I hadn't heard about the Humans!!! one of my greatest live experiences ever.2 Bass guitars by Chris Wong and Bill Rieflin whom I could not wait to see playing Drum! I am preparing myself for a 2 nights King Crimson live on September,( certainly a dream will come true),and didn't have any clue that Bill is a GENIUS, I know him first from his collaboration with Treyy Gun and Robert Fripp at a masterpiece album called " Repercussions of angelic behaviour" and you can say one of the greatest drummers ever.AND TOYAH, brilliant voice,such a character she is. the gig was last night and today I listened to their new album "Strange Tales" for my 3rd time.IMPRESSIVE,

Excellent, intermate outdoor gig with lots of energy. Toyah was very personable, effervescent and carries the audience with her tight and powerful vocals. Supported by an acoustic guitar, small drums and keyboard this was a fantastic summers evening in Chester. Toyah sang old and. new material with a spattering of covers which suited her vocal range and her punk/new wave background and included; "I love Rock n Roll", "Rebel Yell", "Echo Beach" and "These boots are made for walking". Toyah started the set with the fantastic "Good morning Universe"

Brilliant is all I can say.

Well arrived at 6.30pm waited outside till 7.35 door was opened. Toyah arrived on stage at 8ish and we sang, we laughed, we cheered and we wanted more. Toyah was trully excellent she sang most of her hits plus some oldies and the new track 'Sensational'. the venue itself has cross road parking, one level from entrance to stage so excellent for disabled lile me.eaay place to find next to the bus station. my.name is Riky and i enjoyed tha venue and Toyah's show.

Toyah was brilliant but one couldn't expect anymore from this great artist she just gets better with age like a good wine the crowd loved her was only a small venue of may less than 300 people but felt like it was at Wembley she gave it her all was a total pleasure been in the presence of this truly great singer song writer long may she carry on bringing joy to her fans

Toyah / Warrior Rock: Toyah On Tour

1982 live album • 3cd and 2lp coloured vinyl.

Warrior Rock: Toyah on Tour was the second live album by the band Toyah . It was originally released in November 1982 by Safari Records and is the next release in Cherry Red’s comprehensive reissue campaign.

The 15-track double album featured material recorded on 17 and 18 July 1982 at Hammersmith Odeon at the end of The Changeling UK tour. A new 3CD set (compiled by Craig Astley and Joel Bogen) sees the album remastered and expanded to 41 tracks featuring 26 previously unreleased bonus tracks, with a total of 19 different songs from 11 gigs, at nine different locations!

These means that for the first time all four sides of the original vinyl live album are included on CD – unabridged and uncut. The first CD offers 12 of the 15 tracks while CD 2 starts with the last three songs from the concert. After that follows ‘Street Creature’ a mixed and mastered outtake from Hammersmith, soundcheck recordings, and rehearsals from Brixton Fair Deal (now known as Brixton Academy).

The third CD offers an alternate version of the Warriors Rock album by cherrypicking 14 songs from recordings at concerts in Newcastle, Bristol, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Liverpool, Birmingham, London and Brighton.

As well as the 3CD set, there’s a 2LP green vinyl edition that features the original release, remastered. Talking of which, Nick Watson at Fluid Mastering has remastered the package from the original master tapes and archive sources, overseen by Joel Bogen.

Warrior Rock: Toyah On Tour will be reissued on 17 May 2024 via Cherry Red.

Yorkshire Times: In Conversation with Toyah

BBC Radio 2 presenter Gary Davies has announced a nationwide 2024 tour for the live version of his show Sounds of the 80s, which will include an appearance from Toyah.

Ahead of the tour, Toyah spoke to the Yorkshire Times.

What can people expect when they come to the Sounds of the 80s show?

Anyone who attends one of the evenings will find an atmosphere where the audience can be themselves dancing and singing to their favourite tracks from a classic period in pop music. There was such a broad spectrum of music at the time from artists like Bananarama, Prince, and T’Pau, among others, including myself.

I think what will work beautifully is that the stage will be constantly active. Gary will be on there plus the dancers, and a stage set that is Gary’s Radio 2 studio and there will also be live performances from myself and other artists such as Carol Decker from T’Pau and Denise Pearson from 5 Star.

Why do you think the 1980s were such a golden period for popular music?

It was all very hedonistic, none of us thought beyond the 80s. It was difficult in the 90s to sell music from the previous decade, but that all changed with the Millennium. People wanted to hear all those iconic songs again. Part of the success of those tracks is the narrative of the songs; we really were traditional song writers then, writing about people’s attitudes and what they needed in their lives.

So, Toyah, tell us about your best 80s memories.

There were many good memories appearing on Top of the Pops. One of the happiest memories is the magnitude of what we did. For instance, on Christmas Eve in 1981, I played the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which went out live on television, bringing in twelve million viewers, which at the time was phenomenal.

Rest In Peace: Steve Wright

“Thank You Steve Wright for being the kindest, brilliant, incredibly entertaining legend in radio. You always welcomed me in and I love you for that. Heaven has gained an Angel xxx”

Toyah shared the above message and a photo taken at The British Rock & Pop Awards on 8th February 1982 at the London Lyceum, in memory of Steve Wright, who died this week.

Mirror: Toyah Willcox Reveals Key To 38-Year Marriage

Punk singer and actress Toyah Willcox has shared they key to her near four decade long marriage to rock musician Robert Fripp and their decision to not have children

Toyah Willcox has given a rare insight into her marriage of 38 years with rock guitarist Robert Fripp.

The punk singer, 65, married Robert, who has worked with the likes of David Bowie and Brian Eno, in 1986. They have gone on to work together as well as creating their viral Sunday Lunch series, which they now tour. Toyah and Robert, 77, film themselves every week performing covers of huge hits including Slipknot’s Psychosocial, Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell and Foo Fighters’ All My Life.

In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, Robert and Toyah have shared the secret to their successful marriage of almost four decades. Sharing what it is like touring together, Toyah said: “It’s exactly the same as being married for 38 years, it’s good. We both come from very different genres.” Robert added: “But we complement each other well, I have a wonderful time being out working with my wife, may I say, even having greater fun than when we were at home together.”

She went on to have 30 albums, 25 feature films and countless theatre and TV presenting roles. In an exclusive chat with The Mirror alongisde husband Robert Fripp, Toyah shared her most memorable moment from her impressive singing career.

She said: “We both experienced very strange but legendary things. When I played Hammersmith Apollo in 1982, which we recorded live for an album called Warrior Rock, a child was conceived on the back row. Nine months later there was another Toyah in the world. She was actually named Toyah.”

Toyah & Robert’s Christmas Party Tour announced

Following the runaway success of their Sunday Lunch YouTube series, and their critically acclaimed Tour of 2023, Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp are bursting out of their kitchen again, for the Christmas Party 2024 and hitting the road for an evening of classic rock in the company of two rock legends and their band.

With the legendary artistic twists that both Robert and Toyah are renowned for, they’ll perform Toyah hits It’s A Mystery and I Want To Be Free, plus many much-loved gems, including Heroes, Rebel Yell, Welcome To The Jungle, Are You Gonna Go My Way, Paranoid and more.

Toyah says: “It is inevitable that our kitchen high jinx hits the road, because, as Sunday Lunch has proven, the whole world loves classic rock and wants to let their hair down at Christmas! Who better to do that with than two rock legends, who can really rock out and make you laugh at the same time!”

With decades of iconic albums, hit singles and concert tours to their names, Toyah & Robert have most recently connected to global audiences through social media. A staggering 120 million viewers worldwide have watched their weekly performances on YouTube, plus millions more on Facebook and TikTok, with the duo still broadcasting weekly every Sunday. The famous pair have now been married for 37 years.

In a career spanning more than 45 years, Willcox has won multiple awards for singing and acting, had 12 Top 75 singles (‘It’s A Mystery’, ‘I Want To Be Free’), released over 25 albums, written 2 books, appeared in over 40 stage plays and over 20 feature films, and even been a voice artist on Teletubbies. She has also been called one of the most influential women in rock.

Composer, record producer and author, Fripp is best known as the guitarist, founder and continuing member of legendary rock band King Crimson. He has worked as a studio player and collaborator with Brian Eno, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall, David Sylvian, Blondie and The Damned among others.

Last month, the iconic Worthy Farm festival shared its official 2024 line-up for Glastonbury – with Dua Lipa , Coldplay and SZA being confirmed as headlining the iconic Pyramid Stage this summer, while Shania Twain will perform in the legends slot on the Sunday instalment.

Now, following the main announcement, the organisers have begun counting down the weeks to this year’s edition by gradually announcing the artists playing at other stages around the site.

This kicked off last week with news of new artists set to headline the Acoustic Stage later this summer, and now Glastonbury has shared details of its Field Of Avalon line-up.

Announced this morning on the festival’s official X/Twitter page, the full bill for the stage has been shared, with performances from Baby Queen , Skindred, Frank Turner and Lulu all being locked in.

For Lulu, the announcement comes following speculation of an upcoming Glasto slot that emerged last week . According to an anonymous source at the time, the 75-year-old singer would be playing at the festival to close off her ongoing ‘Champagne For Lulu’ farewell tour . It’ll mark her first performance at the Worthy Farm site since 2015.

Others confirmed for the 2024 Field Of Avalon line-up include former NME cover star Caity Baser, as well as Kate Nash , New Model Army , The Cat Empire , Kingfishr, Lucy Spraggan, The Feeling and more. Check out the full list of names below.

As aforementioned, after the first main announcement last month, Glastonbury organisers began gradually sharing more artists lined up for this year’s instalment – starting with the Acoustic Stage.

Scouting For Girls , Stornoway , Ocean Colour Scene , Angie McMahon , and Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘ cover band, Red Hot Chilli Pipers were all confirmed, as well as Russell Crowe’s Indoor Garden Party and many more.

It was the latter that particularly caught the attention of festival-goers, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts on the Gladiator actor being added to the bill . More artists set to perform at other stages around the festival site are set to be announced in the run-up to this year’s event. As for how to get your hands on tickets, earlier this month, it was reported that this year’s edition has seen the “highest percentage of ticket balances paid ever” , meaning there will be “very limited” tickets available in the re-sale.

The re-sale is set to begin later this week – with ticket and coach travel packages at 6pm BST on Thursday (April 18) and general admission at 9am BST on Sunday (April 21). And as luck would have it, 2024 is shaping up to be a massive year for some of the world's top musical acts, so chances are your favorite performer might be stopping at a city near you soon.

Ahead, we rounded up some of the biggest concert tours of 2024, ranging from Taylor Swift's mega-popular Eras Tour to Drake and J. Cole's exciting It's All A Blur Tour - Big as the What?—set to kick off this winter. You can also expect tour dates from classic icons like Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and more.

1) Taylor Swift

Undoubtedly one of the biggest concert tours ever, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will continue right through 2024. The international leg of the tour kicked off in Japan, where she played four shows in Tokyo. She'll also stop in Melbourne, Singapore, Paris, Madrid, London, Milan, and more before returning to the States to play in the fall.

There's nothing like seeing T. Swift IRL, but don't fret if you're unable to nab tickets—the Eras Tour movie is now available to stream from the comfort of your home.

2) Olivia Rodrigo

This is not a drill—"Drivers License" singer Olivia Rodrigo will be hitting the road on tour starting at the end of February. The Guts World Tour runs from February through mid-August and has dates in Nashville, Toronto, Chicago, and New York City, among others. Even cooler? Rodrigo will have a stacked list of special guests—like PinkPantheress, Remi Wolf, The Breeders, and Chappell Roan—with her.

3) Red Hot Chili Peppers

Did you hear the good news? The Red Hot Chili Peppers have extended their global tour through summer 2024. The buzzy stadium tour, which kicked off in June 2022, will now run until July 2024 and bring the California-based band to places like Los Angeles, Tampa, Toronto, and Salt Lake City.

4) Bad Bunny

It's fitting that "Monaco" rapper Bad Bunny titled his tour Most Wanted —it's slated to be one of the year's hottest tours. Planned to help promote his latest studio album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana , Most Wanted will kick off in Salt Lake City on February 21 and run through May 26.

5) Billy Joel

If you haven't yet seen Billy Joel perform live, there's still time! The Piano Man has added more tour dates to his schedule, stopping in cities like Tampa, New York, Denver, and St. Louis this year. Even more exciting? He'll share the stage with fellow iconic performers Sting and Stevie Nicks for some of these dates.

Mitski recently announced that she's expanding her North American tour dates , and we couldn't be more excited. The months-long tour, which supports her 2023 studio album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, has a long list of stops, including Miami Beach, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Paris.

There's nothing quite like a Madonna concert, that's for sure. The singer's Celebration Tour , which started last October, continues straight through the spring with dates in Seattle, San Francisco, Mexico City, and more. Besides her eye-catching sets, chart-topping songs, and impressive choreography, concertgoers also get a glimpse of the performer's fantastic costumes, which include looks from Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier.

8) Bleachers

The New Jersey-founded rock band, which is fronted by Jack Antonoff—known for producing albums for top acts like Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey—not only has announced a new album but a new tour , too. The tour will start in the UK in March, ending fittingly in the band's home state of New Jersey in mid-June. 9) Nicki Minaj

Nicki fans rejoice: the rapper and singer might be coming to a city near you soon as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The massive tour will include performances in Brooklyn, Oakland, and Baltimore, with stops at Dreamville Festival and Rolling Loud California along the way.

10) Blink 182

Live out all of your nineties and early aughts pop-punk dreams with one of Blink 182's One More Time Tour dates. The tour, which supports the band's ninth studio album, One More Time..., will bring the trio to cities all over the globe, including Sydney, Santiago, Portland, and Boston. The tour's supporting act is Pierce the Veil, which is also worth checking out.

11) Stevie Nicks

The oh-so-magical Stevie Nicks continues her touring streak with a bunch of 2024 concert dates . Set to begin in Atlantic City, NJ on February 10, Nicks will visit a dozen cities throughout the U.S. this year, such as New Orleans, Omaha, and Chicago. "Let's keep this party going in 2024," the singer-songwriter posted on her Instagram in September to announce the newly added tour dates.

12) The 1975

The 1975 is showing no signs of slowing down. The British band, famous for hits like "Somebody Else" and "Robbers," has extended their 2023 tour through 2024. Titled Still...At Their Very Best , the 22-date tour will open in Glasgow on February 8 and conclude in Amsterdam on March 24.

13) Drake and J. Cole

Rap greats Drake and J. Cole come together for the It's All a Blur Tour – Big As the What? which is guaranteed to be a good time. Drake, fresh off his 2023 It's All a Blur tour with 21 Savage, is set to hit dozens of cities starting in February, many of which J. Cole will also be in tow for. 14) Janet Jackson

Superstar Janet Jackson is also extending her 2023 tour, Together Again , into 2024 with dates in Anaheim, Austin, New Orleans, and Hartford. Even cooler? Jackson's supporting act is the 2000s southern rap legend Nelly.

15) Rolling Stones

If you've ever dreamed of seeing the Rolling Stones perform live in person, now's your chance. The iconic rockers, who released their studio album Hackney Diamonds this past fall, are returning on the road for a 16-date tour with shows throughout the United States and Canada. Concertgoers can expect a mix of new tunes and Stones classics.

16) Bruce Springsteen

Famous for countless listenable hits like "Born to Run" and "Glory Days," Bruce Springsteen is set to embark on a massive world tour this year with his band, The E Street Band. The much-anticipated tour will take the Boss and his crew to cities such as Phoenix, San Diego, Dublin, and Madrid, from March through November.

17) John Mayer

Be sure to catch John Mayer's solo tour this year, which will bring the guitarist and crooner to cities throughout Europe. This leg, an extension of his popular 2023 solo tour, will kick off in Stockholm on March 13 and finish in Dublin on March 29.

18) Shania Twain

Okay, this one is technically a residency , but we're excited nonetheless. Shania Twain, most known for her incredible outfits (her hooded leopard print look, anyone?) and hits like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" is setting up shop in Vegas starting May 10. Twain's residency will take place at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood on and off throughout December 2024.

All good things must come to an end. The Eagles, known for "Hotel California" and other amazing rock songs, began their final concert tour this winter. It launched in Phoenix on January 20, with March 16 as its last date in the United States. Eagles fans won't want to miss this one.

20) Alanis Morisette: The Triple Moon Tour

Alanis Morisette joins forces with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts for their 2024 Triple Moon Tour , which has dates in North America and Canada. This tour is a great one to catch this summer, as it's slated to run from June through August.

What Is Shakira’s “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour”?

Beginning in November, Shakira will embark on a multi-month arena tour of the US and Canada, which marks her first such outing since 2018. The tour officially kicks off on November 2nd in Palm Desert, CA with subsequent shows scheduled in Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Dallas, Miami, Charlotte, Washington, DC, and Toronto throughout the month of November.

In December, Shakira will visit Brooklyn, Boston, Montreal, and Chicago. As of now, the tour is set to conclude in Detroit on December 15th.

The opening acts for Shakira’s “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour” have not yet been revealed.

Promoted by Live Nation, the tour’s first leg features 14 arena shows across North America kicking off Nov. 2 in Palm Desert, California, with stops in Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, Brooklyn, Chicago and more.

Known for her high-energy performances, Shakira will perform tracks from her new album and her catalog of hits.  

Shakira hinted at the tour while appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" last month.

Shakira teases 2024 tour at Coachella with Bizarrap

On Friday, she surprised fans at Coachella when she appeared during Bizarrap’s set to perform their global smash hit “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” and “La Fuerte,” both featured on her new album. Before exiting the stage, Shakira teased the tour news to a roaring crowd .

Coachella marks the second time in the last month that Shakira has surprised fans with a showstopping performance.

Last month, following the album release, Shakira shut down New York City’s Times Square, giving a crowd of more than 40,000 fans a peek into the energy of her live shows when she performed at the TSX Stage.

The performance included such iconic hits as “Hips Don’t Lie,” “Te Felicito/TQG” and “Session 53,” as well as “Puntería” and “Cómo Dónde y Cuándo” from her new album.

The tour is in support of Shakira's new album, "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran," which within 24 hours of its release became the most streamed album of the year with more than 10 billion streams, and was certified seven times platinum.

The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Album and Latin Pop Album charts, while “Puntería” with Cardi B holds the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Latin Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts.
