Enjoyed seeing your pics. Interesting about the indoor outhouse! What is the tub made of? Thanks so much for linking up at the 25 and Done Link Party 2. Shared onto Fb, Pn, and Tw!

Thanks Dee. I have no idea about the tub. I even enlarged the picture to read the description and I can't figure it out. It looks like plastic, but that would be impossible as plastic was invented then...unless it's a reproduction.

Interesting, Amy. I'm still amazed by the indoor outhouse! I have used an outhouse, no fun in the winter time :(

Visiting again to say thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 66. Pinned!

Thanks again!

Another great historical home and love that you included so much information too! It surely is a big size for just being a summer cabin. I am loving those blue chairs in the living room next to the fire place! And pretty views from the wrap around porch! And yes, how romantic to have a town named after you by your significant other!

It is big, but I think they had a lot of guests for hunting parties.

What a beautiful town. Very nice.

It sure is! Thanks for stopping by.

It's fascinating to see how people lived in the 19th century and to walk in their footsteps. The outdoor views are dramatic, with the wide open country and mountains in the distance. Thanks for sharing the photos.

It sure is! You're welcome.

Another neat historical home! That is quite a "cabin"... reminds me of the Newport mansions that they called "cottages" back then.

Thanks Joanne. Yes, I know, right?

CONGRATS! Your post is FEATURED at the Unlimited Link Party 67!

That's awesome Dee! Thanks so much!

The Underrated Historic Site That Just Might Be The Most Beautiful Place In North Dakota

chateau de mores tours prices

Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.

The town of Medora is definitely one of the busiest tourist spots in North Dakota. The wild west town is full of places to visit and see, including the favorites like the outdoor Medora Musical and the unique Pitchfork Steak Fondue dining experience . Being on the edge of the state’s amazing national park adds on to why this place is so popular. But there is another spot in that town that tends to be lesser known and, considering how beautiful it is, totally underrated. Here’s a look into why it is and why it’s so gorgeous:

Your (guide) was caring, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour. Our driver was helpful and very careful in his driving. They both ensured that all passengers were well looked after. They are a credit to your company.  Valerie Cade - Regina, SK

I personally learned so much, and laid to rest so many misconceptions I had about the Dakotas & Badlands. Arid? Prairies? Desert? – only to find miles & miles of pine forests verdant valleys and rolling grasslands. It didn’t matter where you pointed your camera, it was all beautiful. We received value for our money; we could hardly eat all the included meals. We will have to fast for a week!  Sylvia & Ed O'Brien - Shaunavon, SK

Yes absolutely we would recommend this tour to our friends and we got value for our money. The tour was great fun, with just the right mix of entertainment and history.  John & Edna Ritchie - Calmar, AB

The best tour director anyone could ask for! So helpful, kind and knowledgeable! The bus driver was so pleasant and willing to help. I really liked that: 1. Tips for bellman and meals were included in price 2. Very well organized 3. The right amount of activities & down time. 4. Not having to do the driving 5. Having all the attractions paid for. 6. And especially all the meals that were included in the price of the tour.  Bev Roy - Weyburn,SK

Spending time with my Grandparents was the highlight of the tour.  Nikki Corfield - North Battleford, SK

The tour is fantastic and we saw a lot in less than a week. I had the opportunity to travel with my family ranging in age from 89 – 17. Thanks for creating a memorable family experience that I will treasure.  Yvonne Cross - Davidson, SK

Great tour overall! We are all different so enjoy different things. Medora Musical was my favourite part of the trip!  Sherry Gross - Pierceland, SK - 2016

Great Tour Guide and Bus Driver. Yes I would recommend this tour to my friends.  Tom Ainsworth - Grandview, MB

We enjoyed a great lunch in Hill City, in fact the meals were all fabulous. Friendships made & laughter shared were awesome, it was a great group.  Heather Coakwell - Olds, AB

(Fred the Tour Director) Awesome, he made me feel like part of a big family. (Tour Highlight?) Being with new people.  Sandra Thompson - Lemberg, SK
