Former md of kesari tours,veena sudhir patil is all set for the launch of her new venture..

Veena Sudhir Patil,former MD of Kesari Tours is set to launch her new venture,Veena Patil Hospitality under the brand VeenaWorld-Travel,Explore,Celebrate on the 18th of June 2013 along with husband Sudhir Patil and Sunila Himanshu Patil. It’s first branch office is scheduled to open tomorrow in Kandivali,Mumbai,to be inaugurated by MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

Plans are underway to open 6 branches within a month-and-a-half across Mumbai and one branch in Pune taking the total to seven.

Fifty agents have already signed up as partners for the new venture.

Apart from Kandivali,VeenaWorld outlets are set to open in Ghatkopar,Thane,Dadar,Dombivali and Vile Parle.

Speaking about the venture,in an exclusive interview with Express TravelWorld ,Veena Sudhir Patil,said,“I firmly believe that travel should be affordable to everyone and it is not meant only for the rich and famous. Through my new company I wish to offer travel to one and all from the budget to the affluent traveler. My team is extremely passionate and this is my strength. My company is yet to begin but I am glad they have faith in me to start out on our new journey. I am also proud to say we did not poach anyone from Kesari Tours but people came along only on pure trust. We will take a few months to settle but we have got tremendous support also from our trade partners.”

Veena Patil took over as MD Kesari tours in 2007. The turnover of the company then was approximately Rs 239 crore per annum and by 2013 it clocked a turnover of approximately Rs 728 crore. Kesari Tours is one of India’s well established family-owned tour companies and it recently witnessed a management change. Veena Patil as the managing director quit the company and has been replaced by her brother Shailesh Patil. She eventually disassociated her name from the company. Kesari Patil continues as the chairman of the company.

Shailesh Patil,MD,Kesari Tours said,“To bring in a new management change in the company was purely based on the decision of the chairman Kesari Patil. The new management will work with a mission to only further improve the efficiency of Kesari. Further,I am also aware that Veena Patil is ready to set up a new company and I feel this move will be beneficial to tourists in Maharashtra as they will have the option of dealing with another quality tour company.”

A few weeks ago, I was quite sure I wanted to go on a Kesari tour company package. They had given some details that I had asked for, with some repeat emails though. However , there is something in the news recently that Veena Patil the owner's wife has started a new company. Can someone tell me if this will have any impact on their service? Or is this another company?

Veena Patil and her husband Sudhir have been the faces of Kesari Travel. Kesari Travel was set up by her father and it seems her brother will now run the venture.

I would support her new venture Veena World.

They maybe are best but if you feel uncomfortable then you must find some other companies listed on TA.. Good luck

You book your tour from anyone but you must check 2/3 agents to get some ideas about the rates.

Kesari tours undergoes major overhaul

Kesari Tours recently witnessed a reshuffle of its top management and is now planning to add more feathers to its cap by setting up a travel and tourism academy and offices in five international locations, as well as adding new products and enhancing services. Shailesh Patil, who has recently taken charge as Managing Director, revealed the company’s future plans and explained the way forward at the company’s 29th Foundation Day celebrations.

“We have worked out a lucrative and effective strategy for the company and we feel that the time is right to grow our current portfolio. I believe that, moving forward, technology and Human Resource development will play an important role in the development of the company,” he said. A book written by Kesari Patil, Founder of Kesari Tours, ‘A Journey Called Life,’ narrating his life experiences was released at the Foundation Day function.

Elaborating on the new management structure Shailesh Patil explained that Kesari Patil and his wife, Sunita Patil continue as Chairman and Vice President respectively, while Zelum Chaubal has been appointed as Joint Managing Director and Sangita Patil as Director. Himanshu Patil is still on the Board of Directors of Kesari Tours. “Veena has moved on to fulfill her vision and another quality company will only be beneficial for travellers,” he stated.

Commenting on their new venture – Kesari Travel & Tourism Academy, he stated that the course will comprise four months of theory and six months of practical training. “The classes will be held at new office and the course fee will be around Rs 25,000-30,000. Students will be paid a stipend during their practical training. We plan to carry out two batches in a year and lectures will be by experts and professionals from the industry.” The first batch of 40 students has commenced the course.

Kesari Tours will focus on innovative, quicker, faster and better services this year. “We will move on from discounts and schemes and will purely concentrate on providing quality holidays to our clients. Moving forward, we are investing heavily on staff training. We will soon roll out an online payment system and also release a documentary on the company website on visa procedures. The documentary will help them understand the procedure while applying for a visa with the consulate,” said Shailesh Patil.

In order to offer personalised service, the company is launching new products and services. Elaborating further, Shailesh Patil said, “The first phase of ‘Kesari Home Service’ will be launched in Mumbai shortly. The service will guarantee that once the Kesari call centre receives a query from the customer, information regarding the same will be delivered to them. We will train around 50 employees for this project.”

He further informed that the company plans to launch Kesari VIP Tours soon and also expand its footprint in international destinations by setting up offices in Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Nepal and China.

Kesari Patil (“केसरी पाटील” in Marathi, born April 10, 1935 [2] ) is a patriot, farmer, teacher, tour guide, entrepreneur, millionaire. [3] [4] He holds Indian citizenship and is the founder of Kesari Tours - A World Class Travel Company. [3] [4]

He was born and raised in remote village Mathane near Saphale in Maharashtra , [4] In 1955, Kesari moved to Kosbad, in Maharashtra's Palghar district, to pursue a diploma in farming. [3] One year later, at the age of 21, he bagged his first job that of an agriculture teacher, at Borde High School in the same district. [3] Alongside, He had to manage the family's farming, which proved to be a challenge, given the distance. [3] So, in 1957, He picked up a teacher's job at Vidyabhavan, in Saphale where he taught farming as well as other subjects like history, geography and Hindi. [3] After completing diploma training from SP College in Pune, He added physical education to his repertoire. In the course of the decade that he spent at this school. [3]

In 1967, He joined Raja Rani Travels founded by his brother Rajabhau as a partner in Mumbai. [3] He worked at Raja Rani Travels for 17 years and then Started his own business. [3] In 1984, He started his own venture, Kesari Tours and Travels. [3] [5]

Kesari Raoji Patil was born on April 10, 1935 in village Mathane, in Palghar Taluka. [2] The son of Raoji Patil, a farmer and member of Taluka Board (A Pivotal local governing body). Kesari used to call his father 'Anna' and he was youngest of four siblings. [2]

He completed his class VII education in saphale village in maharashtra. [3] Then traveled to vasai to study Class XI. [3] In 1955, He pursued his diploma in farming at kosbad, Palghar district, Maharashtra. [3] Later on completed diploma training from SP College in Pune. [3]

In 1956, At the age of 21, He joined Borde High School as an agriculture teacher with salary of Rs 85 per month. [3]

Vidyabhavan [ edit ]

In 1957, he picked up Teacher's Job at Vidyabhavan, in Saphale, Maharashtra. [3]

Raja Rani Travels [ edit ]

In 1967, He joined his brother's Rajabhau's Travel agency “Raja Rani Travels” in Mumbai and he accepted his offer of joining him as a partner. He worked at Raja Rani Travels for 17 years. [3]

Kesari Tours [ edit ]

In 1984, He quit his brothers agency to set up his own venture, Kesari Tours and Travels with seed capital of Rs. 1.85 lakh. As of Dec 2011 kesari tours has 11 branches in India and abroad, with total staff strength of around 700. [3] Over the years they have set up 24 subsidiaries. [3] Since inception they have catered to 30 million customers. [3] [6]
