Norway Fjord Trekking
I LOVED this tour!! It was pricey but that's just what Norway costs. We did four hikes in total throughout the trip and they all had different challenges and amazing scenery, and they were well spaced with a rest day before the final Trolltunga hike. I'd say anyone in reasonable shape should be fine for this tour - there were some spots with steep rocks and we had to use a rope to help pull ourselves up, but you definitely don't need any advanced hiking or climbing skills. Our guide, Karl, was really friendly and knowledgeable, giving us lots of fun facts about Norway and the regions we were in. 100% would recommend this tour!
Hiking the Balkans: Via Dinarica
Hike the Tour du Mont Blanc
Peaks of the Balkans - Hiking Beyond Borders in Albania, Kosvovo & Montenegro (12 Days)
An amazing tour with a great organisation that really goes the extra mile for its travellers. The stunning locations are paired with some incredible food, guides are excellent, and the tour is very well supported. Highly recommend!
Mont Blanc Highlights
It was a great tour. The leader was very experienced and interesting. He provide good information about a wide variety of things. The chalet hosts were fun and so enthusiastic. The trip was well organised and the whole experience was really amazing and I loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves walking in steep terrain.
Tour du Mont Blanc Hotel Trek
peter smith was the key he was a great guide but also just a great person he was extremely helpful at all times. And his have us carry the picnic lunches and then preparing them on the trail was a great idea all guides should do this we all carried some part of the lunch then we prepared it as a group each day we all enjoyed this immensely I could go on all day about this guys he was just a peach of a guy would recommend and use him again. Please thank him again for me

Amalfi Coast Walking - Agriturismo
We had a wonderful time hiking the Amalfi coast. Matteo, our guide, was great! Super nice, considerate, polite. He was always on top of safety and the well-being of all of us throughout our hikes; he was always ready to answer questions and to provide information about alternate activities. Overall, it was a great experience, although there are a few things that can be improved. Agriturismo Luna D'Argerola: Facilities/ Accommodations: good, clean and well mintained. Food: very mediocre (a bowl of lettuce is not a salad, especially in the Mediterranean region; poor preparation in general, lacking in variety; very low-quality wine) Staff: not well trained to interact with tourists, rude and not accommodating for basic courtesy like leaving me in the common area in an absolute dark knowing I was there using the WIFI; no information whatsoever upon arrival of our group

Peaks of the Balkans tour in 10 days – Choose Balkans Route
Definitely one of the best experiences that we ever had. Me and my husband travel a lot. And this 10 days tour was amazing. Everything was just perfect, organisation, our tour guide, food, trails, nature. Breathtaking sceneries. Strongly strongly recommend this experience.
Tour du Mont Blanc TMB Circuit
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this trip. We stayed at small hotels, always having a private room and en suite bath. Issues along the way - matched with people in the same group who didn't take the training seriously; meals that were only fair and lack of diversification in picnic lunches; occasional front desk staff that acted uninterested or inconvenienced. Fortunately, this did not affect the beauty of the surroundings and the overall exhilaration felt with the accomplishment of each day. Although the tour operator did mention the importance of training, this should have been stressed more greatly. It should be made more clear that the actual route taken may not end up being the same route clhosen for the day.
Self-Guided Hiking: Alpe Adria Trail - 8 Days
I travelled with my family to Slovenia with this company. We wanted a holiday in nature, with the possibility to do several outdoor activities. Everything was well arranged, the airport transfers and the guide. The accommodation was a lovely guesthouse just in front of the river, we Had a large clean Room with wooden furniture. One mention for the customers service, and for how the guide took care about our specific needs during the outdoor activities which Are really enjoyable and not too challenging. Highly recommend for an Active Holidays In Slovenia!
Hiking in the Dolomites
The tour was very nice with amazing views and Andy was a great guide. It would have been nice if the hotel we stayed at offered something warm for breakfast as well instead of just plain sandwitches, cereal and sweets.
Peaks of the Balkans – Small Group Tour in Albania, Kosovo & Montenegro
We want to thank you and Adventure & Fun Albania for the wonderful opportunity we had to travel with Ben on our Hiking and sightseeing tour in Northern Albania. The trip was really amazing and we felt so relaxed and well looked after. We were delighted with each accommodation and the meals were delicious. Thank you for your assistance with all of our needs and the excellent communication with the company.

Village Life in Transylvanian Carpathians Mountains, an eco-certified program
Our trip was truly spectacular. Amazing food, amazing people, an amazing guide (Zsolt), amazing scenery! We really enjoyed our exposure to Romanian and Transylvania-specific history. The accommodations were beautiful and a welcome respite after a vigorous day's hike. Highly, highly recommend this trip.

REVIEWS FROM OUR CLIENTS
This was an exceedingly well-designed and well-led trip. It is obvious that the leaders are constantly evaluating the quality of their product and modifying it as needed to offer the best experience possible.
Such a wonderful trip! We have recommended it to many friends already!! The attention to detail, the provision of wonderful food, wines, snacks and even happy hours at the end of most days hiking were just the best. The guides that appeared at just the appointed hour in some cathedrals, cities we visited, and the clear relationships they had established with vendors and people along the way was great for our experience.
This trip exceeded my wildest expectations. The itinerary was well designed with just the right amount of hiking, dining, and personal time, and the hiking experiences were varied and always interesting with gorgeous vistas. Hotels were amazing and felt very luxurious. Staff everywhere was lovely and accommodating.
Loved this trip! The pace was perfect—around five hours of hiking each day, late lunch, several hours for rest, relaxation, exploration of the towns we were in, followed by evening dinner. We all agreed that this trip should be advertised as a culinary expedition: the variety and quality of meals was amazing!
We really enjoyed this trip. Itinerary was really well designed with a perfect mix of culture and hiking and swimming. The days went quickly but we never felt rushed.
This was another great adventure for us. The trip was constructed very well, with great locations, food, and experiences. A great combination of trip leaders. A beautiful part of the world to explore with wonderful hikes to get to really appreciate the beautiful countryside and hidden treasures. This experience is exactly why we keep returning to Wilderness Travel.
This was a wonderful trip! The countryside was magnificent, the walks well planned, and things ran smoothly. Richard’s passion for good food made meals a special treat, and Karen’s encyclopedic knowledge of plants and history added to each walk. This was my first Wilderness Travel walk. I loved it and will be back.
This was an amazing overview of the region, and we covered a lot of ground and different kinds of territory. The walks were beautiful and the people were great. I really enjoyed my time on this trip!
A well-designed and executed trip! The hotels were unique, comfortable and fun; our Trip Leader handled every detail flawlessly (and did it all with good humor)! Hiking is emphasized in the written materials, but the other jewels are discovered when learning the history of the area with local guides, who added layers of information and perspective that truly enhanced our experience.
This was my first trip with Wilderness Travel and don’t think I could have enjoyed it more. The guides and itinerary were delightful from start to finish.
The trip exceeded our expectations. The diversity of the experience of hiking in the mountains and then along the coast was tremendous. We did not expect to see such jaw-dropping scenery and to experience so much local interaction, especially with regard to the array of meal experiences we had.
The trip was a perfect combination of natural and man-made wonders—of environment, history, culture, and dining experiences. The hikes were amazing and varied, and took us to places and sites that I’ll remember always.

Europe Hiking Tours
Highlights of Europe hiking tours
- Hike the stunning Romsdalseggen Ridge, a seven to eight-hour hike with stunning views over some of the best fjords in Norway and passing near breathtaking waterfalls.
- Explore underrated countries such as Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina. The famous Trebevič Peak Trail is a challenging route ideal for those wanting to explore the mountainous surroundings of Sarajevo, while the Black Lake Trail in Montenegro is ideal for those new to this activity.
- Embark on a journey on the Scottish highlands to fully immerse yourself in the unspoiled local nature while visiting ancient sites such as Urquhart Castle.
- See the Cinque Terre, five picturesque Italian towns facing the Mediterranean Sea known for the bright colors of the houses. Hike from one town to the next on the ancient road, giving you the best view over the region’s high cliffs. Some trails, such as the Manarola - Corniglia route, are ideal for expert hikers, while others, such as the Manarola - Riomaggiore trail, are perfect for those who are just starting. These are some of the best hiking tours in Europe.
- Hike the Tatra Mountains in the fall to see one of the best foliage in Europe, and opt for the difficult Orla Perć if you’re up for a challenge.
Travel tips for hiking tours in Europe
- If you decide to opt for a hike in the Romsdalseggen Ridge, plan your trip to land between July and September, as the remaining months tend to be dangerous due to unfavorable weather conditions.
- When hiking in the summer, don’t forget that some mountains in Europe go well beyond 4,000 meters high, meaning that you will need warm clothes despite the lowland summer temperatures.
- Before your Europe hiking tour, research your trail, write down the numbers to call in case of emergency (in most places in Europe, it is 112), and let someone know where you’re heading.
- Always check the weather before embarking on your European hiking tour as, especially in northern countries, a sunny day can often turn into a massive storm in a matter of minutes.
- Watch for hunting signs in France, written as chasseurs or ‘chasse garden’ and indicating a hunting area.

Hassle-Free
Book with confidence, tried & tested adventures, unbeatable support, things to know.
The ideal time for hut-to-hut hiking across Europe generally falls between mid-June and late September. However, this can vary depending on the region and the specific trail you’re considering. Elevations and local climate conditions play a role, particularly for trails that cross higher mountain ranges. Always research the current conditions for your chosen route before setting out, and be aware that many mountain huts operate only within the main hiking season, limiting the feasibility of multi-day excursions outside this timeframe.
We’ve rated our tours on a difficulty scale from 1 to 5 — with 1 being the easiest and 5 the most difficult.
The difficulty level of a tour tells you how fit you need to be and how much hiking is involved. Most of our tours are appropriate for people who are regularly active and can hike for about five to seven hours per day.
Technical difficulty means how skilled you need to be to hike on the path. Level 1 means the trail is smooth and wide (like a gravel road), while 5 means the surface is uneven and exposed, and you have to use your hands to help yourself move forward. In practice, that means that the higher the level, the more surefooted and skilled in scrambling you need to be.
You should book your tour as soon as possible, as many accommodations along the trail fill up quickly. That way, you can ensure that you have a place to stay.
In case of an injury, it is best to call the local emergency services. You might find yourself in the wilderness, unable to continue without worsening your situation.
Do not worry too much, though. You will be hiking along popular trails, so you will not get stranded even if something happens.
On the other hand, if you feel too tired to continue hiking, you can always stop in any of the towns and villages along the way and use public transport to get to where you want to be.
Most huts along our hut-to-hut hikes are equipped with showers, but they might be a matter of whether there has been any rainfall lately. Do not expect too much, as mountain huts are not luxurious hotels.
No. The huts provide blankets and pillows for comfort. However, you should bring your sleeping liner so they will not have to wash their bed linen every day.
Cell reception is unreliable in the mountains. If you can see a town, you will likely have a reception. The same goes for mountain huts. If you cannot get it inside, try stepping outside. Wifi is available only at select lodges; most do not have it.
If you dress appropriately, most stages can be done even in light rain. However, if a storm is forecasted, do not hike. In that case, you should wait until the storm passes, even if that means spending a day at the hut.
If you’d like to eat a vegetarian meal, it’s usually available at most accommodations. Vegan options are harder to find in huts, but we’ll let you know about them in advance so you can plan accordingly.
We do not demand that you have insurance before booking, but it is advisable to do so.
There should not be any problem if they are physically prepared for long hiking days. Sure-footedness is also essential, so we recommend they are at least eight years old.

Caminito del Rey - Spain
Known for being one of the toughest hikes in Europe, the Caminito del Rey ('King's Little Path') has been rehabilitated with safety rails, making it less dangerous than before. This Andalusian path is located in the natural park of Los Ardales (Malaga) and offers magnificent viewpoints. If you have vertigo, however, this hike is not recommended for you, as it includes a suspension bridge at the top of the gorge, at a dizzying height, and a section with a glass floor.
Rocks of Adrspach-Teplice - Czech Republic
True works of art of nature, these rocks are sandstone formations that have very particular shapes and are worth seeing if you travel to the Czech Republic. The hiking trail that crosses them extends over a distance of 6 kilometers and is considered easy. It will leave you with your eyes wide open!
High Tatras – Slovakia
Straddling the borders of Slovakia and Poland, the High Tatras are a mountain range classified as a "biosphere reserve" by Unesco. Several hiking circuits can be taken through the High Tatras, but all promise you the discovery of spectacular landscapes, composed of waterfalls, forests, and lakes.
Dolomites - Italy
In northern Italy, the Dolomites are a set of 20 peaks culminating at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, famous for their verticality. There are several routes between its walls and peaks, to choose from depending on your level of hiking.
Schwarzhorn - Switzerland
This hike is for seasoned walkers. In the Bernese Alps, the Schwarzhorn is a mountain that culminates at more than 2,900 meters above sea level. The paths that lead to its summit are quite steep, you will need good shoes to venture there, and discover the breathtaking landscapes they hold.
West Highland Way - Scotland
The West Highland Way is a Scottish road linking Milngavie, near Glasgow, to Fort William in the Highlands. With a distance of 154 km, this hike takes 6 to 8 days. The bravest will discover incredible landscapes, over rolling plains and wild panoramas.
Mont Blanc Tour - France, Switzerland, Italy
Another long-distance hike: the Tour du Mont Blanc. A 155 km route through the Alps, passing through passes and the borders between France, Italy, and Switzerland. According to the hiking pros, the Tour du Mont Blanc is not the most technical trail but requires good physical preparation. Count between 7 and 10 days to complete the challenge.
Cares Trail - Spain
In Asturias, in northern Spain, this hiking trail through the Picos de Europa reaches the villages of Poncebos and Posada de Valdeón. By car, the two villages are almost 100 km apart, but following the Cares river in the cliffs, you will only have to walk 12 km to go. The spectacular scenery is worth the return trip.
Cinque Terre - Italy
Often considered the most beautiful in Europe, this hike will take you through five magnificent little villages built in coves and cliffs on the Mediterranean coast of Italy. The Cinque Terre Natural Park is made up of several trails, each with different distances and difficulties. It's up to you to choose the paths you want to take.
Kungsleden - Sweden
A hiking trail in summer and a ski slope in winter, the Kungsleden is a great hiking route that crosses the Vindelfjällens nature reserve in northern Sweden. Also called the Royal Way, this hike crosses Swedish Lapland for 440 km, divided into several trails.
GR20 - Corsica, France
The GR20 (Grande Randonnée 20) is a difficult level hike that crosses Corsica from north to south, via its regional natural park. It is divided into two parts (north and south) and 16 stages over a total of 180 km in distance. This hike is reasonably done in 15 days, but some break records: a runner covered it in just 30 hours and 25 minutes in June 2021!
Teide National Park - Canary Islands, Spain
The Teide Volcano National Park is located on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. Its various hiking trails offer spectacular panoramas with abundant vegetation in certain parts, but also rocky landscapes straight out of a science fiction film.
The Way of St James / Santiago de Compostela - France, Spain
A historical pilgrimage, the road to Santiago de Compostela is a spiritual journey, but also a superb hike between France and Spain. This is divided into several routes, the historical and the modern. In Spain, the "Camino Francés" is the most popular path and the one most used by hikers. It begins in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, crosses the Pyrenees, the North of Spain, and ends in Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle.
Zagori Loop - Greece
It is in the north of Greece, in the mountain range of Pindus where the loop of Zagori is located. Its route starts and ends in Tsepelovo, and offers you a hike in the heart of grandiose landscapes, between gorges and Greek mountains. With a distance of 62 km, the trek is done in about 5 days of walking.
Laugavegur - Iceland
This is one of Iceland's must-do treks. In the midst of breathtaking wild, desert and volcanic landscapes, the Laugavegur gives hikers the impression of finding themselves on another planet. With a distance of 55 km, the trail starts in Landmannalaugar and ends in Thórsmörk. Due to the country's weather conditions, this hike can only be done between June and September.
Carpathian Mountain - Romania
There are sumptuous hiking trails in the Piatra Craiului massif and the Bucegi Mountains, in the heart of the Carpathians. By taking them, you will cross the most beautiful natural parks in Romania. Your trip can be completed in about 7 days.
Rondane Nature Park - Norway
The crossing of the Rondane, in the east of Norway, will make you discover exceptional fauna and flora. Hikers can, for example, come across herds of reindeer, if they are lucky. There are several routes in the natural park of Rondane, through its plains and mountains. It's up to you to choose your path depending on the difficulty of the trails.
Hadrian's Wall Trail - England
This 135-kilometer trail follows Hadrian's Wall, a stone fortification built in Roman times, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour takes place in the middle of the British countryside and the historical remains of the United Kingdom. It is undoubtedly the easiest hike in the country, but also one of its richest, culturally.
Mount Olympus - Greece
The ascent of Mount Olympus is a mythical hike, which is achieved in two to three days of walking. The highest and legendary point of Greece, it is also a national park endowed with incredible fauna and flora. Its summit is 2,917 m above sea level and can only be reached between May and October; the wind there is too strong in winter.
Triglav National Park - Slovenia
Treks to reach Mount Triglav (2,864 m above sea level) usually take three days. This ascent requires a very good physical level, and a helmet, and is strongly discouraged for people who suffer from vertigo. There are different routes in the natural park that will take you through meadows, lakes, and rocky landscapes.

The warmest country in Europe is expecting a record-breaking year for tourism.
Malta , in the middle of the Mediterranean , is awash with ancient architecture and a beautiful coastline. Located between Sicily and North Africa , the Maltese archipelago is also home to the islands of Gozo and Comino, which both offer their own cultural attractions and natural highlights.
Plus, Malta has an average annual temperature of 23C – which is the warmest in Europe. Should you be looking to explore the shoreline or soak up some medieval history, there are plenty of things to do that suit the entire family.
From enjoying a beach day at Golden Bay on Malta’s north-west coast to hiking across Gozo or exploring a Baroque cathedral in the capital, Valletta , there’s no shortage of things to see and do. You’ll also find a vibrant nightclub scene in centrally situated St Julian’s, and could hotfoot it across to smaller island Comino to luxuriate in the Blue Lagoon’s glorious turquoise water.
Here’s our guide to the best things to do in Malta.

Meander through Mdina’s Vilhena Gate
The ancient walled city of Mdina sits in the southwest of Malta and is one of the island’s most famous tourist locations. Access into the fortified city is through the main Vilhena Gate, and inside you’ll see an array of medieval architecture: Palazzo Costanzo, St Paul’s Cathedral and Torre dello Standardo. Plus, if you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, you may recognise the gate from the first season. Meander through the city’s gateways and explore its shops, bars, and restaurants. Nearby Rabat is also worth a visit while you’re there, with this village known for its feasts.
Swim in the Blue Lagoon, Comino
The Blue Lagoon is a beautiful bay found between the island Comino and its smaller counterpart, Cominotto. The ferry ride is less than an hour from the mainland’s Cirkewwa and Marfa harbours, or you can charter your own boat to the turquoise spot. The stunning sea offers a crystal-clear view of the white sands below and you can snorkel from the shallow beach, too. Meanwhile, watersports – such as jet ski hire – and diving sites are also available on Comino. Just be aware that the Blue Lagoon gets extremely busy during the summer months.
Visit St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta
Malta’s capital city, Valletta, has an array of architectural masterpieces and Baroque buildings, including the Grandmasters Palace and St John’s Co-Cathedral. The latter was built in the 16th century by the Order of the Knights of Saint John, and while its exterior is fairly simple, the inside of the Roman Catholic church looks far more impressive. There are nine chapels, a series of tombs, a crypt, famous works of art – including The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist – and ornate marble details throughout. It’s worth noting that a modest dress code must be adhered to while inside the cathedral, with visitors expected to have their shoulders covered.
Enjoy the nightlife in St Julian’s
St Julian’s is one of the most built-up parts of central Malta and offers a “buzzier” vibe. The town’s Portomaso Bay is a busy marina with casinos, hotels, and shops, while Spinola Bay is where you’ll find quieter bars. Paceville is the heart and soul of the party, and where you’ll find a vibrant nightclub scene alongside a selection of restaurants. The Feast of St Julian’s is a large, outdoor celebration featuring fireworks and festivities and it usually takes place at the end of August, should you be planning a summer trip.
Have a beach day at Golden Bay
There aren’t many sandy beaches across Malta, which makes Golden Bay even more special. Situated near the village of Manikata on the island’s north-west coast, it features an azure blue sea and (as the name suggests) golden sand. Reached down a flight of steps, there are cafes, sun loungers and umbrellas to make for a long seaside day. If you don’t feel like lounging about, water sports options include paragliding and jet skiing.
Go hiking in Gozo
Gozo is Malta’s second-largest island, and it’s only 45 minutes away by ferry. Like Malta, the island has several historic buildings, such as the medieval citadel seen in Rabat, its capital. However, if you fancy veering into its rural landscape, there are multiple hiking paths to explore. You could set off from eastern city Nadur and follow a route past Ramla, where you’ll discover a sandy bay and the intriguing Calypso Cave. Other options offering an amazing coastal view include a trail along the Sanap Cliffs or a walk to Dwejra Bay.
Soak up the view in Marsaxlokk
If you’re looking for a more traditional Maltese vantage point, Marsaxlokk is a small fishing village situated in the south-east, famous for its colourful boats and harbour view. Tuck into seafood caught from the surrounding waters and wander the narrow streets, all while gazing out over the horizon. There’s also a fish market every Sunday, should you fancy mingling with the locals.

Every Thursday Savings Champion founder Anna Bowes gives us an insight into the savings market and how to make the most of your money. Today she's focusing on easy access accounts...
While the top savings rates available are generally a little lower than they were at the start of the year, it's great to see that so many are still paying an interest rate that is keeping up with inflation.
The reason we have seen rates cooling a little this year is that as inflation has fallen, the Bank of England has signalled that at some point it will cut the base rate - which will see borrowing and savings rates likely fall.
This is why longer-term fixed rates are lower than shorter term - this is called an inverted curve and it indicates that interest rates will be falling over the next few months and years.
So, although any money locked away now for perhaps five years may initially be earning less interest, over the full term you could find you have hedged against some of the interest rate cuts and therefore end up earning more overall - that way, at least some of your cash is keeping up with, or even beating the cost of living, for longer.
Variable rates, such as easy access and notice accounts, tend to be more reactive at the time that the base rate changes, although even the top rates on the latest accounts have been falling slightly.
That said, although variable, those who have opened earlier higher paying easy access and notice accounts over the last few months may not have seen rate cuts yet, so could still be earning market beating interest.
But when the base rate is cut, we are likely to see rates on old accounts fall as well as new.
This is why it's important to keep a close eye on the rates you are earning and where possible, switch if you can find something more competitive.
A boss at Waitrose has declared the end of the "cheap food era".
James Bailey, an executive director at the supermarket, said the disappearance of cheaper food was down to the impact climate change was having on people's health, the environment and society.
Agriculture is responsible for around 20% of greenhouse gas emissions and is the biggest driver of biodiversity loss.
It relies heavily on the use of chemical fertilisers and intensive methods, plus relatively reliable weather.
Mr Bailey warned in an interview with The Telegraph that the price of these methods was increasing, meaning people would soon be paying more for UK-grown produce.
"If food production becomes much less stable, you're going to see prices going up anyway, but for the wrong reasons," he said.
"There will be tipping points where if you want tomatoes or lettuces in certain seasons, they're going to cost more, even coming from the UK. Because the farmers who produce them are now dealing with energy costs up to here, or the uncertainty of flooding, or risks that didn't exist five to 10 years ago."
Climate change, he said, would impact "the quality of the food, the availability of the food, and the price of the food".
Mr Bailey predicted the solution was regenerative farming - a type of farming that avoids ploughing, reduces fertiliser use and uses cover crops during the winter months to protect the soil.
He believes in the method so much that he says Waitrose is aiming to make all of its UK supply chains from regenerative farms by 2035.
It is still unclear whether regenerative farming practices mean more expensive food. But Mr Bailey said Waitrose customers - who typically have the time and money to choose more expensive products - would be the guinea pigs.
"Part of the solution might be if customers understand regenerative and are prepared to pay for that difference - a bit like organic food," he said.
"I'm very keen to stress that we don’t have all the answers, but eventually regenerative farming should be as profitable, or more, than intensive farming."

The big economic question dominating this year has been this: when is the Bank of England going to cut rates?
At the risk of losing you, at this early stage, the answer is not at 12pm today.
However, there are several things we should watch out for to give us clues on the timing.
Before we get down to those, there are a few elements of background to take in to aid understanding of the shifting sands being witnessed by the Bank.
Andrew Bailey, the governor, has hailed "strong progress" in the battle against inflation but remained adamant, ahead of this meeting of the rate-setting committee, that there were still some hurdles to clear.
They include wage growth - which is running at almost double the pace of price growth in percentage terms.
In the Bank's eyes, there is a risk that consumer spending sprees could force up prices and add to inflation.
Proving stubborn to bring down too is an element of inflation that reflects the cost of providing services in the economy as opposed to goods.
As worries over inflationary pressures have evolved, doubts have crept in over the timing of a rate cut.
Those have been reflected in the costs of average fixed rate mortgages, which have been creeping back up as financial market expectations for the first rate cut shift.
The good news is that everyone still expects the next movement to be down from the 5.25% level Bank rate reached last summer.
After all, the main rate of inflation is tipped by economists to have eased back to just above the Bank's 2% target during April due to falling energy costs and a further slowing in the pace of food price rises.
The four things to look out for:
Last time out, in March, the Bank's monetary policy committee (MPC) voted 8-1 to keep Bank rate on hold.
There was a lone voice for a cut from Swati Dhingra. There is a chance that at least one other member joins her in banging the drum for lower borrowing costs.
Language in the meeting minutes
There is a chance that the Bank will signal that financial markets are expecting too few cuts on the horizon.
Look out for any language to support that.
While there are bets on June, the bulk of the money is on August for the first cut, but with two fewer cuts up until the end of 2025 than had been expected at the time of the February MPC meeting.
Monetary policy report forecasts
Today's interest rate decision is accompanied by the minutes of the meeting but also the latest quarterly monetary policy report.
It's exciting (yes, really) because it contains the latest forecasts from the Bank's staff that will show its latest thinking on the path for things like employment, economic growth and inflation.
Any sign that the previously expected rise in inflation during the second half of this year will be shallower than expected gives more ammunition to those arguing for a rate cut.
The governor
Andrew Bailey gives interviews after the conclusion of the jargon-filled news conference.
He tries to make the message as plain as possible and can be the clearest sign of the policy path.

It has the lowest average combined price for flights and hotels out of all European destinations, at only £169.64.
The city might not be Germany's most popular tourist destination - instead it's known as a financial capital - but it has a vibrant arts and culture scene, green spaces and an increasing number of bars and nightclubs.
9. Ninth is Porto , Portugal, with an average daily cost of £256.88.
For coffee lovers, it's the cheapest place in the top 10 to purchase a cappuccino at only £1.35.
It's also known for its hilltop viewpoints, medieval monuments, UNESCO-listed historic centre and, of course, its food scene.
10. The final destination in the top 10 is Valencia , Spain, with an average daily cost of £262.34.
Like Seville, it is a good value option for dining out as an average three-course meal for two costs about £38.53.
It's the home of rice dishes such as paella and has thriving cultural, food and nightlife scenes.
Wetherspoons has revealed it is seeing soaring demand for Guinness among younger drinkers.
The Irish stout has become "fashionable" among younger generations, according to JD Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin, who has also seen a rise in ale sales.
Wetherspoons, which runs 809 pubs across the UK, said like-for-like sales increased 5.2% over the 13 weeks to 28 April compared with a year earlier, with total sales up 3.3%.
The company has now said it expects annual profits to be "towards the top of market expectations".
Toyota has warned it faces an impending drop in income after it was forced to cut down production to address a safety scandal.
The carmaker, which is the world's largest by sales, had a record net profit of 4.94trn yen (£25.5bn) in the year to March.
But earlier this year it became embroiled in a scandal after it emerged one of its subsidiaries had cheated on safety tests.
The Japanese government subsequently ordered the supplier, Daihatsu Motor Co, to halt production of its entire line-up.
Toyota has now warned net income will fall 27.8% this financial year to 3.57trn yen because of investments.
Morrisons has acquired 38 convenience stores and six fuel forecourts in the Channel Islands.
They are located on the islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney.
The supermarket acquired the stores from its long-time partner SandpiperCI.
More than 500 employees from Sandpiper CI will be transferred across.
Underwhelming box office performances have signalled cinemagoers might be starting to tire of superhero films.
And now Disney has announced it will cut its output of Marvel content, moving to two television series and three films per year.
The company's chief executive, Bob Iger, said Disney would "reduce output and focus more on quality" particularly when it came to Marvel.
Some 33 Marvel films have been released since 2008, but recent releases such as The Marvels and the latest Ant-Man film have underperformed.
The Marvels was the lowest grossing film in the franchise's history, generating just £165m - less than its budget of £219m.
At the same time, Disney Plus revealed worse-than-expected subscriber numbers and a slowdown in its traditional broadcast television business.
Its shares dropped 8.5% in morning trading.
Brighton Palace Pier is introducing a £1 admission fee.
It has been implemented to cover the rising costs of maintaining, repairing and operating the 125-year-old structure, The Brighton Pier Group said.
The group said in the last five years the annual cost had risen to £11.6m.
The admission fee will come into force from 25 May and will apply weekends in June and then the whole of July and August.
It will not apply to locals or children under two.
Anne Ackord, chief executive of Brighton Palace Pier, said: "We have, to date, been able to offset and absorb these costs but we have now reached the point where, in our view, it is sensible to implement a small admission charge."
She said the fee would help the pier be "with us for generations to come".
Jaguar Land Rover is offering £150 a month towards the cost of insurance to help drivers cope with rising premiums.
The company announced the initiative will help those who own cars covered under its in-house insurance division that are registered between 1 May 2023 and 30 September 2023.
In order for it to apply, the vehicle cannot be worth more than £150,000.
If your car is eligible, Jaguar Land Rover has said it will make the contribution for up to three years.
It comes after the company launched Land Rover Insurance in October after reports suggested car thefts were pushing up the costs offered by mainstream providers.
"Customers of luxury cars and other luxury items are experiencing an increase in thefts due to organised criminal activity in the UK," a spokesperson said at the time.
"The desirability of our luxury vehicles, coupled with concerns around thefts, has recently led to challenges in obtaining insurance cover for some clients."

An airline entirely dedicated to dogs is arriving in the UK next month - but it will cost you more than £6,000 for you and your pet to enjoy it.
Bark Airlines will start by flying two routes - from London to New York and New York to LA. But it is hoping to add more to its roster soon.
During the flights, your pooch will be given free access to roam the plane and will be provided with treats, as well as a beverage of their choice during ascent and descent to help with the change in pressure.
On its website, Bark Airlines brags about being the first of its kind due to it being built "from the ground up" for dogs.
The experience is very high end, with a concierge greeting you and your dog before the flight, a free pass through security and only 10 people per flight.
The cabin also comes prepped with pheromones, music and lavender scented towels to help keep the beloved pets calm.
A "just in case" bag is provided too, filled with leashes, poo bags and snacks.
However, it comes with a hefty price tag of £6,400 for a one way ticket and under-18s are not allowed on board.
