Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins To Co-Headline Tour Across U.K. and Ireland 

The rock legends of Weezer and the Smashing Pumpkins are teaming up for a co-headlining run across the U.K. and Ireland next year.

The limited run kicks-off at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on June 7, followed by gigs at The O2 in London, Dublin’s 3E Arena, OVO Hyrdo in Glasgow, and Manchester’s Co-op Live. They’ll wrap-up with a show at the Castle in Cardiff on June 14.

Weezer will be touring in support of their four-part EP series, SZNS . The series includes Spring , Summer , Autumn , and Winter , which were all released consecutively last year. The EPs follow Weezer’s 2021 records Van Weezer and OK Human . The “Island In The Sun” group is best-known for early 2000s hits like “My Name is Jonas” and “Say It ‘Aint So.”

The Smashing Pumpkins just released the three-part rock opera ATUM earlier this year, featuring 33 songs including singles “Spellbinding” and “Beguiled.” This is their first since 2020’s CYR , The group first arrived on the scene in the early ’90s with smash-hits like “1979,” “Tonight, Tonight,” and “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” from 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

We got there with plenty of time so we could enjoy the Wombats and Pixies. I had heard them all on the radio growing up. It was surreal and i found myself mezmorized with the talent before us. We brought my older children and my daughters friend (his first concert was an awesome pick). I was in awe of the talent before us. It was an amazing show from start to finish. Everyone enjoyed the music we were not disappointed. The only non positive was someone kicked my daughter in the back on purpose. She didn't let it affect her enjoyment of the rest of the show. Too bad some people can't be considerate, common sense isn't so common.

Thank-you to the artist for a fantastic show.

One of the best concerts I have ever been to!

Although it was highly choreographed, with multiple stage 'sets' and a time when Rivers (the lead) went all the way through the audience, picked up a guitar and did a few songs to the crowd on the lawn. They played all the songs you know and wanted to hear live from across their entire catalog. They also showed respect to rock history by doing covers of songs by The Animals, Green Day, Aha, and Toto (I don't get the current fascination with the song Africa, but it was cool to see Weezer play it).

The whole band seemed to be having fun and, while the set changes had lots of gimmicks (different looks, logos, fire, fireworks, etc.) it really worked and was super-entertaining.

I would absolutely go to see then again!

It has been ten years since I saw Weezer and, my, how they have slowed. I liked that the setlist leaned heavily to the older stuff, but I could do without the covers (Green Day, Oasis, Africa, etc.) Mostly, though, they need to do something to get people pumped - that shows they aren't just going through the motions. They can't be THAT much older than ... say ... Muse, right? And letting the crowd sing along a couple of times and riding a scooter around the venue won't cut it.

Indie Rock Roadtrip, the upcoming 30-date tour from Weezer , will hit the road this summer with a cast of bands including Modest Mouse , Future Islands, Spoon , Momma , Joyce Manor , and White Reaper.

With Weezer headlining, two bands will join the lineup each night — with the exception of a stop in Gary, Indiana — from June through September. Modest Mouse will be paired with Momma, Future Islands will be paired with Joyce Manor, and Spoon will be paired with White Reaper.

Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer announce joint tour

Smashing Pumpkins  and  Weezer  have announced a summer tour of the UK and Ireland for next year. The two bands will kick off the 6-date-trek on June 7th in Birmingham and play in London, Dublin, Glasgow and Manchester, before wrapping June 14th in Cardiff.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, October 20 th .

Forget an “Island In The Sun.”

This summer, we’d rather be at Weezer’s star-studded ‘Indie Rock Roadtrip’ Tour .

From June through September, the “Buddy Holly” rockers are taking Modest Mouse, Spoon, Future Islands, Momma, Joyce Manor and White Reaper along with them on select dates for what will surely be one of the biggest indie rock tours of the year.

First, the ‘Indie Rock Roadtrip’ will swing into Canandaigua’s Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center on July 3.

Ten days, later, Weezer and co. are set to make a pit stop at Queens’ Forest Hills Stadium at West Side Tennis Club on July 13.

Then, after the tour ends, Weezer returns to the Northeast to play Asbury Park, NJ’s annual Sea.Hear.Now Festival on Sept. 17-18 alongside major headliners Foo Fighters, The Killers and The Beach Boys.

Weezer new music

The durable rockers keep testing the boundaries of music.

Most recently, Weezer released the concept four-album “SZNZ” project. As you may have guessed, each of the four records represented a “season.”

In late 2022, the band teased a Broadway show to accompany the new songs but threw in the towel due to low ticket sales and high production costs.

Anyhow, you can still hear the band’s ambitious “SZNZ” albums here: “Spring,” “Summer,” “Autumn” and “Winter.”

Weezer Announce Summer 2023 Tour, One Stop in Upstate New York

Alternative rock darlings Weezer have announced a 2023 North American summer tour, and will make one stop in Upstate New York.

CANANDAIGUA, NEW YORK

Weezer will take the stage on Monday, July 3 at CMAC (Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center) in Canandaigua. Future Islands and Joyce Manor will kick off the show at 7pm.

Ticketmaster will begin sales on Friday, March 3 at 10am.

Fronted by Rivers Cuomo, Weezer burst onto the scene beginning in 1994 with their self-titled debut (commonly referred to as the Blue Album). That album featured such hits as "Buddy Holly" and "Undone - The Sweater Song" and went multi-platinum.

Weezer was played heavily on MTV throughout 1990s and have a total of 15 studio albums to their name. They're also known for appearing on a large number of movie soundtracks.

Canandaigua will be Weezer's only appearance in Upstate New York this year. (They will also be playing Queens, New York on July 13th.)
