This is a small park developed on the hilly area of Vizag, there is a tram line through which we can go there. The timings are from 9 am – 6 pm. The view of vizag from this hilly area is exquisite. There is a huge shiva statue as the name suggests “Kailasagiri” with lush green park and restaurants. There is another walkway from city to Kailasagiri but the beauty of Vizag can be seen only from tram.

Retired Navy personnel serve as guides and take visitors on an exciting tour inside the submarine. One can spend some time experiencing the life of Naval officers inside a submarine, albeit above water. Very well written blog, I never knew one can visit so many places in Vizag. I can see a kid will have loads of fun, visiting the submarine and aircraft museum. But the best part is Lambasingi, it looks too surreal and must-visit kinds. How much a 3 day trip will cost, with a decent staying option?

I have many friends in vizag but never got a chance to visit. Now you have given me a plenty of reasons to see the city. Museums look interesting especially the aircraft and coffee museum.

Went to Visakhapatnam from Hyderabad a couple of years back on my India visit. Loved Araku valley and the plantations. The submarine museum was unique. First time I ever entered into a submarine.

I love caves, waterfalls and wildlife, so would want to spend my time exploring that. My boys would love the aircraft and submarine museums. It sounds like we should visit the culture center if we come to the area as well to learn about the native people.

Your photo of Rushikonda Beach is amazing! I never thought of India as a beach destination, for me it’s more about the culture, the food and the temples… But to know that this is one of the cleanest beaches in India is very enticing!

Visakhapatnam certainly seems to have everything. I love beautiful beaches, but am more interested in the museums (especially the coffee museum!) and the caves. I would really like to visit this area. It looks beautiful but with so many interesting places to check out, it seems ideal for family visit.

We were sorry we did not get to visit the great beach areas in India when we visited. We certainly would head to Rushikonda Beach. As an ex-Navy guy, hubby would not miss the Naval Submarine or Aircraft Museums. I would bargain for a day trip to Katiki Falls or the Borra Caves in exchange for those museum days!

The Bora caves are SO BEAUTIFUL they remind me of Ruby Falls in Tennessee. Lambasing is quite eerie in a hauntingly beautiful way. This sounds like a great place to visit.

Beaches, wildlife and waterfalls, this place ticks plenty of must haves on my list. I can’t wait to visit.
