I have heard about Nautica Voyage being reformulated, and indeed, there has been a change in the fragrance packaging, but did they change the liquid itself?

One interesting fact is that Nautica Voyage has that refreshing, cooling scent that usually comes from cucumber, but there isn’t anything similar in fragrance structure.

Besides that, Nautica Voyage is a mass-appealing scent that is extremely easy to like and a safe blind buy or a birthday present. It is very hard to go wrong with this one.

In the final dry-down, the scent gets slightly woody from cedar wood but it is mostly green, musky opiate.

After multiple tests under multiple conditions, on my skin, Nautica Voyage lasts up to 7 hours, but I heard some people saying that they can detect it even after 9 hours, so it really depends on your skin.

In the first hour, and an hour and a half, Nautica Voyage will leave beautiful traces around you, and because of its ultra-pleasant nature, you will surely receive many compliments.

After the period of projection, it becomes more of an intimate scent, but if you want to smell it all day, you can always re-apply a spray or two.

Considering its price, Nautica Voyage offers more than we ever thought it would, so there is really nothing bad we can say about this deserving bestseller.

Nautica Voyage is best to wear during hot, summer, or spring days when you need a refreshing, uplifting scent to get you throughout the day .

There is no doubt that Nautica Voyage is a scent made for warmer days when higher temperatures will allow it to evolve beautifully and reach its full potential.

I can picture Nautica Voyage to be worn on almost any occasion, especially day-time events: work, coffee breaks, getting groceries, dates, lunch, and any other occasion you can think of.

It is more suitable for daytime, but you won’t go wrong if you decide to wear it when clubbing, or for a romantic dinner with your special one.

I wouldn’t recommend Nautica Voyage for colder winter or even fall days since it lacks the depth, warmth, or woodiness that winter fragrances should have.

5-6 sprays of Nautica Voyage will be enough for the fragrance to evolve naturally and reach its optimal performance .

It’s important to emphasize that Nautica Voyage can hardly be overapplied; its light and compact composition is very stable and too many sprays won’t make the scent unbearable.

However, applying more than 5-6 sprays on a daily occasion will only be a waste of such a nice perfume and the performance won’t be improved.

The dry down brings more masculinity, with deeper notes of amber, musk, and oakmoss resting on a stiff cedarwood base. It balances out those brighter top notes beautifully and makes this summer fragrance feel sophisticated enough for a beach-bar date.

Fragrance snobs might call Nautica Voyage out for being a little basic, but in a budget fragrance, I’d rather have a cologne that does a few things well rather than a cluttered mess.

Nautica has pulled off a charming crowd-pleaser that smells like a fruity cocktail on the beach – and picks up regular compliments from women, too.

In terms of aquatic fragrances, I’ve never found a fragrance that smells so refreshing while still feeling masculine. It’s one of the few budget fragrances I’d be confident recommending as a blind buy – and that should tell you everything you need to know.

How Long Does Nautica Voyage Last?

Nautica Voyage punches way above its price point in terms of longevity. For me, it lasts around 8 hours overall – 4 – 5 of strong arm’s length projection, and another few as an intimate skin scent.

Be careful when applying Nautica Voyage. Compared to other cheap colognes, it’s very strong, so there’s no need to overspray. I only ever use 4 sprays maximum, and usually, 3 are fine – two to the neck and one rubbed between my wrists.

For a summer scent, that’s a really good level of projection – this cologne will pick up compliments galore, and really impressed me.

Nautica Voyage is one of the first few colognes I’d recommend for a beginner looking for a summer fragrance to fill out their collection.

For the price, you’re not going to find a better bright and aquatic cologne. It’s an easy, dumb-reach fragrance that will lend a slice of class and masculinity to any Gent in the summer months.

If I was to look hard for any drawbacks, I can only think about the bottle. It looks a little generic, and the atomizer isn’t quite on the same level as designer sprayers in terms of strength and distribution. But the scent is the important thing – you don’t carry the bottle around with you all day, after all.

Nautica Voyage is one of the cheapest – but most complimented – colognes in my rotation. It has that same clean freshness from other successful aquatic colognes, but with an added fruitiness that sets it apart. I love it, girls love it. Absolute no-brainer.

After having used Voyage d’Hermès for a number of months, it was time to give it a full review using the Fragrance Formula to see how it fares.

With a rich floral heart over a woody and musk base, Voyage d’Hermès is a proud member of the Woody Floral Musk olfactive sub-family.

As the citrus and pepper notes fade, we’re revealed a floral bouquet featured rose, juniper and sweet jasmine. The juniper adds an almost herbaceous note reminiscent of cedar yet the cardamom continues to persist throughout the heart.

Voyage’s Life-Cycle, Wake & Strength

Although deep and heady, Voyage is far from overpowering. The notes cycle through their dry-down with a few transitional notes extending others along the way. As mentioned above, the cardamom is really what makes this fragrance sing and is omnipresent throughout its lifespan.

Although the projection and sillage are both quite tight and stay relatively close to the skin, the longevity is impressive. Although you may want to re-apply after a couple of hours, the fragrance’s performance keeps on giving well after its application.

What Do People Think Of Voyage d’Hermès?

Others also enjoyed the bouquet of spices and woody notes but since the cardamom is firmly fixed in the limelight, it’s the one that receives all the glory. Of course, if you don’t let the smell of cardamom, this isn’t a fragrance that you’ll enjoy!

Being a very deep and sensual fragrance, it was better received by more mature people from their thirties and above. However, it’s a very contemporary if classy blend. Conversely, it came across as a little too prominent for younger people. Nevertheless, it’s a fragrance that both men and women find attractive and this universality is probably the secret to its success.

When To Wear Voyage d’Hermès

Both the time of day and season play large roles in when to successfully wear this fragrance. Firstly, its cardamom and spices aren’t something that you’d wear for winter despite being deep and sensual. In fact, it fares far better during the late spring and summer.

However, it’s probably too heavy and musky for a summer’s day. Instead, it’s the perfect companion for balmy summer nights. Thanks to its paradoxical fresh and warm notes, it complements the heat and offers something that is both unique an alluring.

As for the age range, it’s perfectly wearable for anyone in their late twenties but is probably more suitable for someone who is established. Therefore, it’s a great fragrance for those in their thirties, forties or above.

In terms of occasion, it can be quite versatile. As much as it’s a respectable office fragrance that isn’t overpowering for small workplaces, it’s best reserved for the nighttime. Therefore, whether you’re just going out, staying casual or enjoying your evening, it’s a wonderful companion. We’d even suggest it as a unique alternative for dating!

Finally, Voyage d’Hermès is a strange beast when it comes to the masculine. On paper, its notes are rather masculine and sound like something best worn by men. However, it’s very much a unisex fragrance that can be bought by anyone or even shared by a couple.

Presentation and Value For Money

Nevertheless, it’s visually appealing and looks great when positioned at an angle on your shelf. The parfum distinguishes itself from the eau de toilette by being made from black glass rather than white, which looks almost midnight blue under the light.

Furthermore, there’s no bottle cap and the atomiser can be unscrewed for refilling. Once you’ve run out, there’s no need to buy another bottle but a plain refill, which is slightly cheaper. Speaking of the atomiser, it performs well and provides a burst of thick mist. It’s solid and well-made so doesn’t squirt out like a water gun.

Meanwhile, the packaging is very attractive too. The cardboard features a herringbone texture on the front, top and back with beige sides. An embossed stripe wraps around the cardboard to look like a ribbon whilst “Voyage d’Hermès” is elegantly written in silver text with underscores.

As for the value for money, know that Voyage d’Hermès is a particularly expensive and premium fragrance. Retailing well above $100 for 3.4 Oz (100 ml), it’s quite the investment. However, being an original and well-performing fragrance, it’s worth taking the plunge.

It depends what you mean by “night life”. I think it’s too subtle for night clubs and would quickly become drowned out by other smells. However, it’s a great choice for dating and offers a unique alternative scent for romantic occasions.

Hello Carlos, Well, don’t know where to start with, but, went to the nearby mall at my home city (Mumbai, India) looking for something similar on the lines of Davidoff’s CoolWater (DCW) as this one has been my absolute favorite for office wear. I am no enthusiast in terms of EDTs and/or EDPs but started my journey in the world of one’s ownself (care) when 4 years back I was gifted a CalvinKlein CK In2U EDT by one of my friend as a birthday gift and from there on, this journey of self admiration started to say the least (pun intended). CK in2U opened the floodgates towards Davidoff’s CoolWater (as Both of them are Fresh/Aqua based EDTs and after more than a couple of years of trying CK in2U, Davidoff’s CoolWater, Nautica’s Blue (all Fresh/Aqua based) I went on the same tram lines to search for something similar (after reading what similar EDT notes would criss-cross with DCW), Had Bvlgari’s Aqva, Atlantiqve and Marine in mind and then my senses were blown away by a somewhat pricer option that the salesman suggested me to give a try and it was this gem: (not the Parfum version) but the EDT Voyage De’Hermes and it sure did take me on a Voyage De’Cardamom the moment that mist spray touched me. I told him, give me ¾th of an hour and if this EDT matures, beyond Cardamom, you will surely have a new customer (me). And yes, it did marure and I am a proud owner of this,today… 6th March,2021.

It doesn’t look like the original at all and doesn’t last long. I’ve also read negative reviews of other perfumes. They’ve also written fake ones. Even Voyage D’hermes Parfum. My advice to you is to buy a real original Voyage D’hermes Parfum from Hermes.com, Hermes stores or Sephora. Believe me, you will feel the real difference. The scent of GUM — “Ciel de Gum” by Francis Kurkdjian

French perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, while visiting Moscow, was impressed by the architecture of the legendary Moscow department store on Red Square. In 2013, to mark GUM’s 120th anniversary, he released the “Ciel de Gum” fragrance that’s dedicated to the historical building. According to the main concept, the amber hints are intended to recall the aroma of expensive boutiques; the cinnamon and red pepper chords to evoke the Gastronom No. 1 store; while the woody and floral fragrances tend to immerse the senses in the New Year’s atmosphere of the city’s historic center.

The scent of birch sap from Ladanika

Spring, the first green leaves, and birch sap — this is how the creative perfume project, Ladanika, describes the new fragrance from perfumer Elena Markova that was released in March 2021. The scent of Soviet cartoons from Soyuzmultfilm

Mint, rosemary and cedarwood form the basis of this eau de toilette, followed by the fiery notes of tonka bean, patchouli and sage. The fragrance also contains a new chord, which perfumers called “frozen fougère” (“frozen fern”), reminiscent of the winter forests of Siberia.

The scent of youthful Moscow — Gosha Rubchinskiy and Comme des Garçons

This fragrance from the popular Russian designer and Japanese fashion house, CDG, is based on angelica root and buchu plant extract. Also present are hints of mandarin, chamomile, styrax, vetiver and patchouli. According to its creators, it recalls the smell of “youth and freedom” in Moscow parks, while the bottle, bearing Rubchinskiy’s name in Cyrillic, recalls the design of the cult Soviet perfume, Krasnaya Moskva (Red Moscow).

The scent of tea — “Russian Tea” from Masque

Summer evening, a campfire, the smell of wild herbs, raspberries and hot black tea from the thermos: the perfume’s Italian creators were inspired by hiking in the Russian forest and hearty get-togethers around the campfire under the starry sky. The composition is based on raspberries, black pepper, mint, black tea, magnolia, as well as birch, leather and incense.

The scent of a Russian fighter jet — Su-75 Checkmate

Glass, metal, engine and cockpit all form the basis of this perfume that has the scent of the fifth-generation Russian fighter, Checkmate, which was developed by the state corporation Rostec and the Perfumers’ Guild of Russia.

The perfume’s release is timed to coincide with the international premiere of the aircraft’s prototype at the Dubai Airshow 2021. It contains elements of metal alloys, glass and the leather trim of the cockpit, combined with hints of juniper, patchouli and oak moss.

Alas, the perfume is currently available in a limited edition only, and is not freely on sale.
