Post Malone breaks silence on Taylor Swift-Tortured Poets Department collab

Post Malone finally collaborated with Taylor Swift on her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department . The opening track, “Fortnight,” features the “Sunflower” singer. He has opened up about getting to collaborate with Swift.

In a post on X, Malone reflected on the lead single. He also shared the single’s cover photo, which features the two sitting on the couch together.

“It’s once in a lifetime that someone like @taylorswift13 comes into this world. I am floored by your heart and your mind, and I am beyond honored to have been asked to help you with your journey,” the post began. “I love you so much. Thank you Tay.”

Post Malone’s career

The post was a cute thank you from Malone to Swift, not that his appearance on The Tortured Poets Department put him on the map. He also starred in the single’s music video with Swift herself.

Post Malone is an acclaimed artist. He gained notoriety for his debut single, “White Iverson.” He subsequently signed with Republic Records and released his solo studio album, Stoney. The album featured hit singles like “Too Young” and “Deja Vu.”

His next album, Beerbongs and Bentleys, launched him to even further heights. “Rockstar,” “Psycho,” “Better Now,” and “Ball for Me” are all featured on the album. Malone has since released Hollywood’s Bleeding, Twelve Carat Toothache, and Austin.

Additionally, Post Malone has headlined six solo tours. His most recent, “If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying” tour, was done in support of his fifth album, Austin. The tour commenced in Noblesville, Indiana, before concluding in Claremont, Western Australia.

He has also opened for the likes of Fetty Wap, Justin Bieber, Future, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers throughout his career.

Taylor Swift ’s Tortured Poets Department

Taylor Swift just released her eleventh studio album of new material, The Tortured Poets Department. The album was her first of new music since the Grammy-winning album, Midnights. In February 2024, Swift won Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year.

During her acceptance speech for the former category, Swift announced The Tortured Poets Department. The album was released on April 19.

Additionally, she is currently entrenched on the most ambitious concert tour of all time, the “Eras” tour. The tour commenced in March 2023 and primarily traveled across North America throughout the year. After a brief break, Swift resumed the tour in early 2024 with shows in Japan and Australia.

Now, Swift will take the tour across Europe throughout the summer. She is currently on a two-month break from the tour and will resume it on May 9 with a show in Nanterre, France.

In the fall, Swift will return to the United States for a handful of shows. She will also play shows in Canada to close out the tour.

The tour has been a big hit. Swift also released a concert film to tie in with the tour, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. It quickly became the highest-grossing concert film of all time as it made over $260 million worldwide at the box office. The concert film has subsequently been acquired by Disney+ and has a (Taylor’s Version) edition of the film on the platform.

Tyler Posey - “Internet Killed the Rockstar Tour”

Tyler Posey Joins the “Internet Killed The Rockstar” Tour

Tyler Posey  has announced he will be hitting the road this fall as part of the “Internet Killed the Rockstar Tour” presented by Big Noise.  MOD SUN  headlining and  girlfriends  supporting, this stacked lineup will bring a true family to the stage in cities across America for the 12-date run. Tickets are on sale today at  https://linktr.ee/Tylergposey .

“I think every touring musician is in agreement that tour has been a long time coming,” shares Posey on today’s announce. “I know the Big Noise family is hungry for one. With MOD SUN joining the family, this feels like the perfect way to celebrate. Let’s fucking get it.”

Tyler Posey is no stranger to the spotlight. His storied acting and music career spans over a decade starring in dozens of TV shows and movies including Teen Wolf and Truth or Dare, as well as being a member of multiple bands including PVMNTS and Five North. In 2020, Posey decided to take a big step in his music career by becoming a solo artist. He has released two singles, “ Shut Up ” featuring Travis Barker and phem and “ Happy ”, both of which were co-written by John Feldmann and phem. Fans can expect more hard-hitting pop punk tracks with honest and vulnerable lyrics from Tyler throughout the year.

MOD SUN released his highly acclaimed album  Internet Killed The Rockstar , earlier this year. The album features production from John Feldmann (5 Seconds of Summer, Panic At The Disco) and sees MOD SUN returning to his pop-punk roots. IKTR debuted at #8 on Spotify’s Top Global Album Debuts, #21 on Alternative Radio charts and entered the following additional Billboard charts: Heatseekers, Alternative Airplay, Rock & Alternative Airplay, Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.

The album features the breakout hit song, “Flames”, featuring global superstar Avril Lavigne. The single peaked at the #8 spot on Billboard’s US Rock Digital Song chart and spent weeks in the Top 20 at Alternative Radio. In May, MOD SUN made his TV debut performing “Flames” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!Outlets including MTV, Entertainment Weekly, NYLON, Alternative Press, GQ Italia and Entertainment Tonight Canada have heralded the song as one of the best new tracks of the year.

Tyler Posey - “Internet Killed the Rockstar Tour”

girlfriends, the pop-punk duo composed of Travis Mills (musical artist, Apple Music host, actor) and Nick Gross (Big Noise, Gross Labs, Find Your Grind), released their self-titled debut album via Big Noise in 2020. Produced by John Feldmann, the album has garnered over 14 million streams on Spotify. They most recently teamed up with rapper Jasiah for their new hit single “ Congratulations ”, which kicks off girlfriends’ musically focused 2021 and hints at what’s to come from their highly-anticipated sophomore album releasing later this year.

“I’ve known Travis Mills for over 10 years and love everything he and Nick Gross are doing with their band girlfriends,” said MOD SUN. “Tyler Posey is one of my new best friends and an absolute star in his own right and I’m stoked he’s joining us on the road. We’re all signed to Big Noise and believe doing this as a team is much more powerful than doing this on your own.”

A full list of tour dates can be found below.

INTERNET KILLED THE ROCKSTAR TOUR DATES: 9/9 – Hollywood, California – The Roxy 9/14 – Minneapolis, Minnesota – Varsity Theater 9/16 – Cleveland, Ohio – House of Blues 9/17 – Chicago, Illinois – Park West 9/19 – Detroit, Michigan – The Shelter 9/21 – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Foundry at the Fillmore 9/22 – Boston, Massachusetts – Brighton Music Hall 9/23 – Brooklyn, New York – Music Hall of Williamsburg 9/25 – Washington, D.C. – Black Cat 9/26 – Charlotte, North Carolina – The Underground 9/30 – Atlanta, Georgia – The Masquerade 10/3 – Dallas, Texas – South Side Music Hall

Standing alone in the spotlight for the first time has been freeing in more ways than one, least of all when it comes to Tyler’s courage to open up about the hell that was 2020. The early days of the COVID pandemic were particularly pronounced for him, exacerbating deep-rooted anxiety, depression and childhood trauma that manifested in a self-destructive pattern of drug and alcohol abuse. Left to his own devices while quarantine orders ruled Los Angeles, life inside Posey’s home became a dangerous cycle of isolation and intoxication.

“I’ve experimented with different things since I was a kid, then took a break,” Posey says of his past drug use, noting he became “a lonely addict” during the pandemic and retreated from friends and family. “As soon as quarantine really hit, I was in a weird place. I didn’t have anything else to do.”

This new chapter of Posey’s career sets off a powder keg of personal reflection and growth, grounded by his elastic voice, juxtaposing a devil-may-care growl and smooth-throated pop-punk sheen.

Posey found a confidant in Feldmann, himself sober, and the two musicians used their songwriting sessions as a form of therapy together. With Feldmann’s keen ear and decades of wisdom to imbue on his charge, Posey’s maturation and resolve stack up far beyond his years.

“I just feel proud,” he says, reflecting on the path that led him here. “I’m proud of the music we wrote, but also how far I’ve come. I went to a pretty dark place, but I got out of it. I can honestly say right now is the happiest, most present I’ve ever been.”

Four Of Japan's Biggest Rock Stars Launch New Band, THE LAST ROCKSTARS

Yoshiki , Hyde , Sugizo and Miyavi , four major forces from Japan's rock scene, have announced their new star-studded band THE LAST ROCKSTARS .

Two song teaser videos have been released, one for "The Last Rockstars" (lyrics by Yoshiki , composed by Yoshiki ) and the other for "Psycho Love" (lyrics by Yoshiki / Hyde , composed by Hyde ). It was announced that these two songs are slated to be made available very soon.

THE LAST ROCKSTARS will unleash their debut live performances on January 26 and January 27 at Ariake Arena and January 29 and January 30 at Tokyo Garden Theatre. U.S. shows on February 4 at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and February 10 at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles go on sale today at 7 a.m. PST/10 a.m. EST.

"We've come together to start this challenge for the world out of Japan," Yoshiki told reporters.

"This may be our last chance at this challenge," Sugizo said. "We want to put what's left of our lives on the line to make the world rock with our music."

Yoshiki has several monumental accomplishments under his belt both as the leader of X JAPAN and as an accomplished solo artist. He has been named "one of the most influential musicians and composers in Japanese history" by Consequence Of Sound and has composed Hollywood film soundtracks, a concerto for the Emperor of Japan, and the official theme song for the Golden Globe Awards . He has performed at the world's greatest stages, including Madison Square Garden, Wembley Arena, Coachella music festival, and Carnegie Hall. In addition to his music, Yoshiki has been internationally recognized for his philanthropy, and was awarded a Medal Of Honor by the Japanese government.

Hyde is internationally recognized as the vocalist for L'ARC-EN-CIEL , VAMPS and as a successful solo artist. L'ARC-EN-CIEL has sold over 40 million albums worldwide, headlined Madison Square Garden, and were also the first rock band to headline Japan National Stadium. Hyde has also had great success touring internationally as a solo artist.

Sugizo has worked and performed globally as a member of LUNA SEA , X JAPAN , and U.K.'s JUNO REACTOR , a group credited with creating psychedelic trance. As a solo artist he has been pursuing his unique style of electronic music while creating for multiple movie and theater soundtracks.

Miyavi "The Samurai Guitarist" has enthralled the world with his transcendent unconventional "slap style" of playing his guitar, which has taken him around the world nine times to tour in over 30 countries. In 2014 he made his debut as a Hollywood actor in "Unbroken" . He was the first Japanese public figure to be featured in Gucci 's global campaign, and has been appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNCHR , providing support for refugees.

With their illustrious experience in Japan's most influential rock bands, remarkable sales records individually, and hit collaborations with global artists, these four musicians coming together is a monumental occurrence. THE LAST ROCKSTARS are here to usher in a new legendary era of rock.
