The successful growing climate for grapes earned Lehigh Valley the label “ American Viticultural Area ," catapulting the region’s wines and vineyards into the (wine) light. An AVA is a federally designated wine grape-growing region in the United States, providing an official appellation for the wine produced in a region. Think: Napa Valley or Willamette Valley, those are AVAs and Lehigh Valley is one of them! Established in 2008, the area covers over 230 planted acres and includes over 30 wineries.

In Lehigh Valley, you'll taste our signature varietals such as Chambourcin, Riesling, Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, and Cayuga White, grapes which grow exceedingly well in the region's climate and its terroir. Enjoy these varietals, incredibly drinkable red-blends, and even some unique rule-breakers like cotton candy-infused white wine and sweet and bubbly peach mist. 

You can’t hit all 30 Lehigh Valley wineries in one weekend, but this weekend wine tasting sampling will get you on your way to discovering the wines of Lehigh Valley. Start at Breinigsville’s  Clover Hill Vineyards , one of the Lehigh Valley’s founding wineries. Dry wine lovers can enjoy the Pinot Noir. Next on your Breinigsville visit is  Vynecrest Vineyards , another founding winery. Discover the Traminette grape there – a Gewürztraminer-like dry white wine with a bit of spice.

Cathy experienced her first wine tour in this region of California and brought the idea back as she explored the many wonderful wineries in eastern Pennsylvania. “I began meeting and developing friendships with the owners and managers which eventually resulted in Pennsylvania Wine Tours.”

At PaWineTours.com we are the go to source for hosting wine tours for groups in the quad regions of the North East PA wine trail, South East PA wine trail, South Central PA wine trail and North central PA wine trail. We are also knowledgeable about off trail and specialty wineries. Being centrally located in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania allows us to offer tours in all regions of the state yet specifically in this quad region. Situated in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country,  Pinnacle Ridge Winery   is housed in a beautifully renovated barn that was originally built in 1851. Their tastings are just $5 per person on weekdays, and $10 per person on weekends after 4:30.

Tolino Vineyards

This nine-acre vineyard and winery is located on a 76-acre farm and creates high-quality wines enhanced by the family’s Italian heritage and agrarian roots. At  Tolino , you may sample three wines free of charge, or choose six premium wines and receive a souvenir wine glass for just five dollars.

Vynecrest Vineyards & Winery

Open year-round,  Vynecrest  offers a tasting room, wine bar, light appetizers, and live music. They are open seven days a week and tours of the grounds are also offered on the last Sunday of each month.

We produce a wide range of wines from grapes grown in the Lehigh Valley AVA. The microclimate (characterized by dry summers and long cool autumns) is perfect for ripening grapes and similar to that of the northern Burgundy region of France, as well as the southern part of the Loire Valley. Pair that with soil that is rich with shale and limestone, and you have a recipe for tasty “old world” style wines!

Bucks County Wine Tours

Tour Pricing - Starting at $99 per person

WE GUARANTEE PRIVATE APPOINTMENTS/TASTINGS SO YOU CAN AVOID THE LINES AND BUSY WINERIES.

Couples and small groups are welcome but please note we do need at least 7 people to run on any given day. If you have less than 7 people in your group, you must call/text/email Rich at 484-274-2517 or [email protected] to book any seats.

Starter Package

2 wineries with private tastings. This package does NOT include lunch. You can opt to include lunch at a local restaurant for an additional fee (see add on options below) or you can bring a picnic lunch, or you can order from a food truck at the winery (if available). Please provide your own cooler if packing your lunch. We will secure reserved outside seating for you after your first tasting. Most wineries have snacks/food for purchase as well. We provide water for everyone throughout the day.

$99 per person

(Only available for groups of 10 persons or more)

Package enhancements:

• Add lunch at a local restaurant for an additional $30 per person
• Add a third winery with a private tasting for an additional $30 per person
• Add a private pairing or snack with your basic tasting for an additional $20 per person

Standard Package

2 wineries with lunch. This package includes lunch, high-end tastings/pairings, custom pictures airdropped to the group at the end of the tour, transportation, gratuity at all venues, a cooler full of water, Bluetooth adapter to play customized playlists, and the driver/guide for the day to take care of anything you need throughout the day.

$169 per person

• Add on another winery (full tasting and pairing) for an additional $30 per person

We will select lunch at one of the following restaurants: (included in the package price)

Days and Hours of Operation

• Tours offered primarily Saturdays and Sundays. For weekday tours, please call or email.

Transportation costs have increased significantly since the pandemic. The national average to hire a shuttle bus like ours is $1200 for 5-6 hours. We include all these costs in our packages as well as making all the reservations at the venues we work with!

Packages include your transportation, PRIVATE tastings, tour guide/driver and pictures taken throughout the day. The driver/tour guide will assist in every way possible to ensure the group has a seamless day. You are NOT just getting dropped off at the stops...we take care of EVERYTHING!

Gratuity for your driver/tour guide is not included in the package price, it is payable in cash at the conclusion of the tour.  We suggest 10% to 20%.

We have a minimum of 7 to run the bus so if you have less than a full bus (14 people) you will most likely be joined by others that have also signed up for the day. Please call before reserving to avoid cancellation fees in the event the minimum has not been met. If you want a private bus and don’t have 14 people, please call and we will provide a quote to ensure a private experience. Over 14 people…call for a quote to secure a larger vehicle.

Tour Pricing - $165 per person

If you have 10 or more people you can customize your tour in any way you’d like. You can choose one winery and one brewery, two breweries, one distillery and one winery, etc.

Brewery/Distillery Tours are only available for GROUPS of 10 OR MORE: Our seating capacity is 14, so any booked group with less than 14 people does not guarantee privacy. You can opt to keep it private by paying for empty seats. Please call for details, 484-274-2517.

Black River Farms

If you’re looking for wineries near Bethlehem, you can’t get much better than Black River Farms ! It’s just 2 miles south of downtown Historic Bethlehem and was established in 2009. The farm grows 14 varieties of grapes, as well as fruits, vegetables, flowers, and free-range chicken eggs. No matter your taste in wine, you’ll find something to enjoy at Black River Farms. You can sample these wines in their rustic tasting room or on the patio while you also enjoy a gorgeous view.

Black River Farms is less than 10 minutes from Sayre Mansion . 

Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars

For mountain views and friendly service, visit Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars . This New Tripoli winery is a wonderful place to spend an evening. With live music every Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and seasonal events, you’ll find plenty to enjoy. If you’re interested in a tour of the vineyard or a special wine tasting, be sure to schedule one before your visit.

Blue Mountains Vineyards is a 40-minute drive from Sayre Mansion . 

Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery

Said to be one of Pennsylvania’s largest family-owned and operated wineries, Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery has been in business for over 30 years. With an impressive variety of wines, this is a stop that will please everyone. Be sure to check their calendar of events, which includes candy-making contests, winery tours, and other fun occasions!

Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery is less than 30 minutes from Sayre Mansion . 

Franklin Hill Vineyards

Franklin Hill Vineyards is an eco-friendly winery with a big heart. At the tasting room in the winery, they have a great selection of wines available, as well as a small menu of snacks and even some wine slushies. Chat with one of the staff members to learn about which wine might fit your tastes best. Remember, wine makes a great gift for loved ones back home!

If you’re interested in taking a tour of Franklin Hill Vineyards, then book our amazing wine package! The Lehigh Valley Wine Lovers Package includes a one-night stay for two in one of our beautiful guest rooms. (This is the perfect package for couples on a romantic getaway!) You’ll also get commemorative Sayre Mansion wine glasses, one bottle of Franklin Hill wine (specify red or white when you book the package), a private tour of the winery, and a 10% discount on a purchase at the winery or tasting room. Franklin Hill Vineyard’s winery is located about 30 minutes away from Sayre Mansion . They also have a shop in downtown Bethlehem that is just three minutes away . 

Galen Glen Winery

Enjoy a homey atmosphere and gorgeous Pennsylvanian views at Galen Glen Winery! This is one of the best wineries to visiting for a date night. They offer a wide selection of wines at their winery tasting room, which they believe are best sampled while gazing at the vineyards.

Galen Glen Winery is about 50 minutes from Sayre Mansion.  

Pinnacle Ridge Winery

Pinnacle Ridge Winery is just outside of Kutztown, which is considered the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Fittingly, the winery is in a renovated Pennsylvania Bank Barn that dates back to 1851. Pinnacle Ridge is known for their dry reds, though they also make outstanding dry, off-dry, and semi-sweet whites. Discover for yourself why they are one of the most awarded wineries in the state!

Pinnacle Ridge Winery is 30 minutes from Sayre Mansion.  

Tolino Vineyards

Tolino Vineyards is another award-winning winery that should not be missed! With frequent summertime events, like live concerts on their 76-acre farm, and tours held every Saturday and Sunday, you’ll have plenty to do on your visit! Choose from any of their Italian-inspired wines and enjoy an evening of gorgeous views and good company.

Vynecrest Winery

Visit the oldest existing vineyard in Lehigh Valley! Vynecrest Winery’s origins date back to the spring of 1974, though the winery itself become officially licensed in 1989. Today, visitors can sample wines in their historic tasting room, a 19th-century barn that has since been restored. Guests can also enjoy wine by the glass or the bottle at the Vyneskeller Wine Bar , which also serves light appetizers that pair perfectly. Vyneskeller also hosts live jazz music during the last Saturday of the month, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
